I have some photos identified as the above individuals. Cora Stringer was a friend of either my Aunt, Carmie Reynolds or my grandmother, Lydia Sandusky Reynolds. These photos are about 90 years old.

A few years ago someone sent me an email concerning the probate records for Ruth Bell who lived on Beaver Creek near Murl. Recently another researcher has been trying to determine the parents of the Elizabeth Bell who married John Stringer. I think that the probate records indicated that Elizabeth Stringer was an heir to Ruth Bell's estate including Ursula and Henry Reynolds. If convenient, please email if you can confirm this..

Application for Bounty Lands State of Missouri County of Bates On the Fifteenth day of February AD one thousand Eight hundred and Fifty one, personally appeared before me a Justice of Bates County Court, within and for the County and State aforesaid, Celia Summers aged sixty years a resident of the County of Bates and State of Missouri, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of Moses Summers deceased who was a Private Soldier in a Company of Ranters Commanded by Captain Nathan Boone in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812. That her said husband volunteered at St. Charles Missouri Territory on about the 15th day of March AD 1812 for the term of three months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of Three months and was hon honorably discharged at St. Charles Missouri Territory about the 15th day of June AD 1812 she further states that if her said husband ever received a discharge she does not recollect ever having seen it... She states that she was married to the said Moses Summers in Wayne County State of Kentucky, on the 16th day of January AD 1808 by one Alexander Jones a minister of the Gospel, and that her name before her said marriage was celia McDermed that her said husband died in Bates County State of Missouri on the 7th day of February AD 1845, and that she is still a widow... She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which she may be entitled under the act passed September 28 1850 Celia Summers Sworn to and subscribed before me the day and year aboe written A. F. Nelson, Justice of Bates County Court affidavits enclosed were from Fanny Caton and Leonard Dodge The application was rejected with a note saying the name Moses Summers was not on the rolls of Nathan Boone¹s Rangers. The file from the National Archives includes a copy of the pay roll and muster dated March 3 to June 7 1812. Moses Summers was paid one dollar a day for 92 days of service.

Hello. I am looking for directions to a Parnell Baptist Cemetery. From a 1972 Death Certificate it has it at Route 3, Monticello, KY. I will be traveling from Byrdstown, TN. I have a photo taken in 1930 in rural Hoopeston, IL. My father and uncle are also in the picture. They were both from Murl KY. My father remembered that Luther would visit when he was visiting in the area and that he was a cousin, but could not remember how he was related. I suspect that Luther was born somewhere between 1900-1910. He was wearing a suit but most people who could afford to do so traveled in their "Sunday clothes." My Dad thought he might have worked in the petroleum industry. Or it could be that he had business at Chanute Air Base in Rantoul, IL. Does anyone have access to early 1910 -1930 cenus records for Wayne Co or have a Luther Reynolds in your files that would fit this age? I would like to hear from anyone else researching the family of Henry Reynolds and Usula Bell Reynolds. Their son Tommy was my grandfather. His sisters were Ida (b Jan 1880) and Leann b 18 June 1873. They lived near Murl on Beaver Creek. My grandfather used to be the mail carrier prior to 1928 when the family moved to Illinois. Tommy married Lydia Sandusky. Her parents were William S Sandusky and Nancy C Lloyd.

I hope someone has access to Marriage Records in Wayne County, that can do a look up for me. I recently saw John Russell and Mariah Honey were married on April 23, 1870 in Wayne County. Hello I am looking for any info on Adam S. Mercer husband of Lucretia Davis. Both are originally from Wayne Co. but moved to Breckinridge Co. by 1850 and on to Grayson Co. by 1860.
