Does anyone know where Bell Point School was located in Wayne County.... I know it was there at least in 1931, I am not sure about before or after that.... Patti
June, I cannot thank you enough for these tax lists! The information they contain have opened up new avenues for research, and as a result I have already linked up with two potential new cousins who are descendants of the Pulaski and Garrard County Clarks. You certainly know how to go out with a flair! The foundation you have laid for genealogical research in Wayne County, Kentucky, will continue to be felt and valued for many years to come. It grieves me greatly to lose you as a partner in research. I grieve also that I cannot lighten the load for you in what must be difficult days, but we both know the One who will carry you both. You have been my mentor and will always be my friend. June, First let me say I am sorry your husband is in bad health, I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers. Would you have any books that could help me with this line? Margaret Elizabeth Lair married to George Washington Pratt. She was the daughter of Thomas Hardin Lair and he was the son of Bradford Lair and Elizabeth Burk. Margaret Elizabeth Lair and George Washington Pratt are my great, great grandparents. I would like to get a book that has this line in it if there is one. Thanks, Becky Corn

I am looking for descendants of Thomas Clark who married Sally Stodgil in Wayne County, KY, in 1816. I believe somebody told me this Thomas Clark migrated to Arkansas. If this is your ancestor, I need to touch bases with you! Also, I am looking for any descendants of Thomas Clark who appears on the 1799 tax list for Pulaski County, KY. I am looking for information concerning the Sherrill family in Wayne County. Isaac Sherrill was shown in the 1810 & 1820 census with his family. His son, Jonathan, my 3rd g grandfather married Sarah "Sally" Yates in 1819 and moved to Indiana in 1830. There was a Thomas Sherrill married to Elizabeth Yates in 1820 (the name Sherrill was spelled Sherall on marriage bond) and a Rebecca Sherrill (spelled Shearer on marriage record) married to William Whittle in 1820. I have seen a second John Sherrill and a second Thomas Sherrill in the early census As well as Wilson Sherrill in the 1850 census. Would like to know which were the children of Isaac, did his wife die in Wayne County? Is there a written record somewhere in Wayne county that shows he moved to McMinn County Tennessee? Thank you for your help, Tina McCarthy

I have an ancestor who was living in Monticello, Wayne County in 1860. According to family lore, he joined the Union Army and was killed around 1864/65 in the Civil War. His name was John Hudson. I am trying to find him but he has a very common name. I was wondering if anyone would know what regiments came from the Monticello area? Kathy
Greetings Cousins and Friends! Just a reminder to attend the BERTRAM FAMILY REUNION this coming Sunday, July 13th, in the city park at Monticello, Wayne Co., KY. We begin gathering about 10 A.M. E.D.T. in the shelter house with the BERTRAM sign, and eat about 1 P.M. E.D.T. This is "fast time", so Fount and I move our watches forward one hour coming from Middle Tennessee. Bring a covered dish, or store bought equivalent if you have to travel a distance. Maybe bring a beverage and ice. All else will be furnished as far as the eating is concerned. Also, bring your pictures, old and new, scrap books, family keepsakes, genealogy if you're into that, and most of all . . . bring yourselves, your children, and grandchildren! Hope to see lots of you there! We'll have a lot of fun! Anna and Fount BERTRAM [email protected] [email protected]

My grandmother's sister was Nell Sandusky daughter of William S and Nancy C Lloyd Sandusky. I think she married Green Thurston. As I recall, she passed away in the 1950's when I was a small child. The funeral I recall was in Monticello KY but she may have lived in TN at one point. Can someone do a cemtery lookup and/or census lookup for this family? Would like more information on her descendants. Thank you Jo Ann Reynolds
