Hello, I am looking for information on Elisha Chism born 1746, son of John and Elleanor Gillentine Chisum. Elisha was in Grainger county, Tn. 1799, along with Elisha Jr. and Elijah Chisum who married Lucy Clairborne. Elisha married a Winniefred Russell? Not certain about the last name, but oral history says she was a Russell. We have a will that Elisha made he called her Wenny. Wenny Chism was also in the Spring Creek Baptists church records from 1803 to 1807, with Elijah Chism and Lucy Clairborne Chism all were members there except for Wenny she was dismissed by letter in 1805. I loose this family from 1805 to 1820, where I find Elisha and Wenny in Lawrence county, Ark. which was once a part of Mo. Elisha died in 1827, children were Elisha Jr. Elleanor Nellie Chism who married John Adam Walker. Nellie was born 1792 Warren county, Kentucky, JOhn Adam Walker we have been told had a sister named Polly, she married Benajmin Chism Benjamin Chism was born 1796, birthplace unknown, we don't know if he was born Tn. or Kentucky, his father was in Tn. 1799 on the Grianger couty, Tax list. Russell Chism. Elizabeth Chism who married a Gray. so possible children are Benjamin born 1796, in which Benjamin migrates to Idependence and Izard county, Ark. along with his mother Wenny. Benjamin who married Polly Walker? Elisha Jr. Elleanor Nellie Chism who married JOhn Adam Walker Jr. Elizabeth Chism who married a Gray. Russell Chism who was born Tn. George Washington Chism who married Elizabeth Caroline Burgess, Jane Lankford and Jane Knighton. Benjamin chism had children Isham, Henderson, Washington, Thomas, James, Benjamin, Wenny and Elizabeth and one more we think by the name of Elisha who was born 1821. William Chism married Mary ? we have been told Lewallen or Glover, Possible daughter of Thomas Glover. We are not for certain. We are hopeing some one may know of these connections and where Elisha was before 1792. William Chism had son and daughters named Thomas born 1859, John Green born 1863 and Mary . Thanks Vickie
