    1. [KYWAR] CALDWELL Photograph Album
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photograph album which appears to have belonged to the CALDWELL Family of Louisville, KY. Photographs and names mentioned in the album include: Isaac CALDWELL (well known and successful lawyer) Kate CALDWELL Gussie CALDWELL Junius CALDWELL Phebe CALDWELL HELM Hettie SMITH (mother of Kate CALDWELL) Daniel SMITH (father of Kate CALDWELL) George HELM Aug HELM Lt. G.A. WINSTON Mamie WINSTON M.O. "Anna" WINSTON Eliza WINSTON Louise STANLEY Fannie PITTS Younger PITTS (well known Baptist Pastor) John A. PITTS Laura PITTS Finley DENY V. ROBERTS The photographs in the album were taken in Louisville, KY; St. Louis, MO; Huntsville, MO; BowlingGreen, KY; Nashville, TN; and Lexington, KY; Most appear to have been taken in the 1850's and 1860's. The album includes much handwritten information regarding the families and those in the photographs. I was hoping to find the families and return this wonderful family heirloom to its rightful place with family, however, to date I haven't had any luck in locating any of the families. I appreciate any assistance you can provide. Thanks, Shelley

    1. [KYWAR] David Fleece Enox (also spelled ENOCKS/ENOCHS/ENOCH)
    2. PJ Wigington
    3. I have received information that led to the correction of the following request since sending it previously: I am looking for David Fleece ENOX in KY. He was my ggg grandfather b.~1795 VA and married his second wife, Lucinda GOTT b. 1810 KY, on 8 Mar 1842 in Warren Co. They had three children. He was married previously to wife UNKNOWN and had five children with her. In the 1850 Red River Co. TX census he was listed with his second wife and all of the eight children. My great grandfather comes from the first marriage and I cannot find her name or where she was from. The children's names were: James Fleece, Polly A., Squire Jefferson, Margaret E., Lucy E., David F., Richard P., and Mildred. All the children were listed on the 1850 census as be born in KY except Mildred and she was born in TX in 1847. The last child born in KY was born Aug 1846. So from 1828 to ~1847 I know they were somewhere in KY. I believe that David's first wife was probably also from Kentucky because I have an old reference that stated David's father headed from VA to KY in 1797...David would have been approximately two. I am not really sure of that, but am hoping. David may have been on the 1800 or 1810 Census as a child with his parents, but by the 1820 census he may show up as a single person? For certain by the 1830 KY he would be a head of household because the first child with the first wife, James Fleece ENOX - my great great grandfather- was born in 1828. Thanks in advance, Paula

    1. [KYWAR] Searching for Enox lineage...need help!
    2. PJ Wigington
    3. I am looking for roots to the Enox side of my family. My Grandfather was John Garland ENOX, his parents were John Marion ENOX b. 1862 TX and Fannie Frances BRYANT b. 1870 TX. His grandparents were James Fleece ENOX b. 1828 KY and Margret Joana HEMBY B. 1838 TX. GGrandparents David Fleece ENOX b.1795 VA and Lucinda GOTT b. 1810 KY. That is as far as I know. I was told that there were four ENOX brothers that came from Kentucky to Texas. They returned for supplies to Bowling Green and on their return were caught in flooding and two of them drown. John Marion's siblings were Sarah Jane, Lucy Belle, and Samantha (also spelled Semantha). James Fleece's siblings were Polly A., Squire Jefferson, Margaret E., Lucy E., David F., Richard P., and Mildred. I would greatly appreciate any insight into where this part of my family came from and who their family was. I will share any family information that I have. Thanks in advance, Paula

    1. [KYWAR] NEAL'S/HALL'S who moved to IL
    2. Tina Hall
    3. I am looking for information on the Neal's and Hall's who moved from Warren county, KY to Illinois. I have Aaron Neal & Nancy Jordan, the parents of Polly Neal, who moved from TN, to Warren county, KY, then on to IL. Polly married William Hall in 1806 in Warren county, KY. I need more information on these Hall's. I have two conflicting stories on this William Hall. He is supposedly the Hall who died in an Indian Massacre in 1832 (Black Hawk Wars). Another version says that his wife was not a Polly Hall, but a Rachel (can't remember surname). Anyway, I need to verify this William and his family. As you can see, Hall is my married name. My husband researched his lines back to IL and found a totally different story from what I was given by a Jordan researcher. I need someone to tell me about this William while he was in KY. thanks, Tina Hall res00waz@gte.net Tina's Family Genealogy Page: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~thall Steve's and Tina's Home pages: http://home1.gte.net/~res00waz/ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, make it dance!" ~ George Bernard Shaw +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    1. [KYWAR] Moore surname
    2. David L. Anderson
    3. Dear list I am searching for a family of Moore that was living in or near the Bowling Green, Gasper River and Russellville area about 1805 through maybe current day for descendants. My gg grandmother was Nancy Jane Moore, she married Abner Dyer in the Pendleton District of South Carolina about 1802/03. The Dyers, Moores and other families migrated to the Warren County area about 1806. My gg grandfather Abraham Anderson also migrated to the area on the gasper river and purchased 170 acres of land. William H. Anderson son of Abraham Anderson married Mary Diadem Dyer daughter of Abner and Nancy Jane (Moore) Dyer in 1827, this couple came to Lafayette County Missouri the following year 1828. I need any link and help in my search for this Moore Family. I have been able to find my gg grandfathers Family grave yard on a privately owned farm near the old Providence Church near Russellville Ky, containing 14 graves. S I think these families would have been in close proximity to that area. Thanks for any and all help I need it very badly as I have run into a solid brick wall on the Moore surname. Please reply to my email address at daujan@yhti.net or the list with a posting. David L. Anderson.

    3. Heather- Have you looked for a child with the first name starting with P? Many children were listed by their middle name, so look for a 6 to 8 year old Peter or Paul or Phillip, etc. on the 1850 census. 3. Dear fellow listmembers: I am at a loss as to how to locate the parents of my g-g-grandfather, Reuben P. Hawkins. He was supposedly born in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in May 1843, yet I cannot locate him. He was in Illinois by the time of the Civil War, because I have found records documenting his service there. I have gotten "leads" that his father could have been John or Reuben, but no one by that name is listed in 1840 or 1850 censuses, and no children named Reuben. Does anyone out there have any ideas where I should go from here? I have been researching for years and years, but I am still a novice in my opinion! Any input is appreciated! Thanks, Heather

    1. [KYWAR] Benjamin Price's descendants
    2. My search of the census records show Benjamin F. Price, b. 1839, was married to Mary Anna Long, and they had seven children: Robert M., b. 1860, my grandfather, Thomas A., b. 26-Apr-1862, Margaret L., b. 1865, Cornelia A., b. 1867, Mary H., b. ??-Oct-1869, Lillie E., b. 1871 and R. F., b. 1874. All are believed to have been born in Russellville, Logan Co., KY, and although my father was brought to Texas as an infant, he frequently said that he and my grandfather lived in Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY. The Abilene [TX] Reporter-News report of Thomas' death in 1941 listed two sisters as survivors: Hybernia Price of Sweetwater, Nolan Co., TX, and Mrs. J. E. Boyce, of Abilene, Taylor Co., TX. The book of Nolan County, TX, marriages shows Hybernia Price marrying W. S. Rone on 30-Mar-1905, but no ages or place of birth are given. And the 1910 TX Soundex shows a Mary Hybernia as the wife of William S. Rone, of Nolan Co., TX. It had always seemed to me that Hybernia was probably Mary, who must have preferred to go by her middle name. The Soundex listing seems to prove that part of it, but the dates I have found don't add up and thus far it has been impossible to verify anything. Equally frustrating is the identify of Thomas' sister Mrs. J. E. Boyce. As a child in Abilene, I recall having a number of Boyce cousins, but the earliest Abilene City Directory I have been able to find, the 1944 edition, shows no J. E. Boyce, nor any mention of any Boyce with a first name of Margaret, Cornelia or Lillie. Does anybody have any information on Benjamin's children or know anything that could help me clear up some of these mysteries and inconsistencies? John
