I don't live in Kentucky, so can't help with record research. My direct line is BRIGHT (Mary Bright married Charles Girten) so I trace Girtens. Mary was the daughter of John Anselm and Theresa/Teresa (Cissell) Bright. I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR BRIGHTS & CISSELLS!!! Here are a few notes I have on the information posted: Mary Jane married George W. Girten on January 27, 1843. He died 1847. (she was 21) I have that Mary Jane Thompson married Charles Henry Girten August 27, 1851. (she was 29) - no source for the Thompson information. Mary Jane was born August 1822, Marion Co., KY, and died October 29, 1900. She may have married a Hendricks as well as a Thompson... Of course, George W. & Charles Henry Girten were brothers - sons of John and Mary Ann (Barrons) Girten. I have lots of Girten information if anyone is interested. PS: I trace a lot of the Catholics who came from Maryland through Kentucky into Missouri. I love to share and discuss these families.
