James Graham, wife Alice Genarty Graham (formerly Grimes), and their children: > Michael > James > Mary > John > William > Elizabeth > Margaret > Catherine They lived in Union County and was involved in Union County from 1851 (after they arrived in New Orleans and migrated to Union County). The kids lived there until they married. The mother, Alice, died there in 1893. By her death there was only l child living (John) was. Please advise Carin Green

    3. I don't have any information on them - and if you're on Ancestry.com, you likely have the census info. I'm sorry...I've never encountered any Grahams or Grimes in my research. Good luck. Enlisted 8/23/1862, Wounded 9/1/1862 Battle of Uniontown pg. 100, GRAHAM, Edwin A. Enlisted at Clarksville, Tenn. in Company F, Johnson's Regiment, and so served in the Confederate ranks until the close of the war. He was in the following fights; Dover, Fort Donelson, Rolling Mills, Uniontown and Geiger's Lake. He was wounded by a picket in the abdomen at Uniontown; was discharged at Evansville, INd. in 1865. *Note by Pat Corona: My Gr. Grandfather's property was bordered by Geiger Lake. He was just 10 years old but he related the story of the battle. Their house was burned to the ground by soldiers. His father fled the area under the cover of darkness with the 4 children. Louise GRAHAM was an original member. pg. 82/83: Presbyterian Congregation organized in Morganfield in 1839. Elizabeth GRAHAM was a member In 1838 the first church of the Christian denomination came into being under the leadership of Elder GRAHAM of IL. The Era of Settlement, pg. 37: "Samuel C. GRAHAM, born in Virginia in 1770, came to Union County in 1803, and settled in the Raleigh Precinct. His wife was Elizabeth NOEL, and he had two sons and five daughters. Samuel A. GRAHAM, one of the sons, was born in 1815 on the old GRAHAM farm six miles west of Morganfield. He married Susan J. ROBERTSON about 1839. She bore eleven children. Mrs. GRAHAM died in 1870. Samuel A. GRAHAM then married Lucy Jennie LANDRUM, and to them two children were born. S.A. GRAHAM died in 1895. John GRAHAM came into the county in the early 1860's, married Mildred BOHANAN, and settled on a farm near Uniontown. Porter, George, and John GRAHAM were the sons.' This is the same John GRAHAM who ran the ferry. Pg. 122, Sturgis, An Eventful Year-1893: Porter GRAHAM was a member of the town's first board of trustee's.
