BlankHello fellow researchers, My name is Joy Mack, and I’m with the Trimble County Historical Society. Some of you know me because we share a common ancestor, while some know me as their friendly lookup volunteer. I am working on a project for the Historical Society. It’s a book to honor Trimble County’s men and women who have and/or are serving this great nation in our Military. This is where I NEED YOUR HELP. It’s three parts. PART 1 Thanks to Maggie Fallone, owner of the Trimble County website http://www.online-isp.com/~maggie/trimble/ . I have scanned pictures of soldiers who are not identified, and they are now on the link above. If everyone would view these pictures in the Photo Album section of the Trimble County Webpage, it would be a great help. If you can tell me who any of these individuals are, please email me at cmuck@iglou.com . Please note all these pictures are from the World War II era. Be sure to include the picture number. PART 2 If you have an ancestor or loved one who has a connection to Trimble County and would like to have their picture included, please contact me. Anyone with Civil War Pictures, PLEASE contact me, as they would be a wonderful addition. I am planning these sections in the book: Revolutionary War (1775-1783) War of 1812 (June 12, 1812-1814) Mexican War (1846-1848) Civil War (1861-1865) Spanish-American War (February 15, 1898-December 10, 1898) World War I (1917-1919) World War II (December 7, 1941-1945) Korean War (1950-1953) Vietnam War (1961-1975) Persian Gulf War (January 1991-June 1991) War on Terrorism (September 11, 2001-present) Iraqi Freedom (March 20, 2003-May 10, 2003) During Peace Time Nursing Corp Coast Guard National Guard Misc. which will cover minor crisis and conflicts like the Panama Crisis. Email me for how to submit a picture and/or name of an individual. The guideline to submitting an individual must have some connection to Trimble County Kentucky. They have to meet one or more of the following: Born, Reared, Lived, Died, and/or Buried in the county. If you have an ancestor who served in any of the older wars please at least email me their name. While I have a list of most from the following wars, someone could have been missed: Revolutionary War War of 1812 Mexican War The Confederate side of the Civil War (really would like to get more info on the Union Side) PART 3 I have a list of names found in Obituaries and from military markers at gravesites. I need help in determining where in the book to put them. If you know which war or section they should be in please email me the information (even if they didn’t see action). If they served during peace-time when no conflict was going on, I need that info as well. Thank You.
