Thomas, We want to thank you for sharing the information on Samuel Pryor and his family. My ancestor James Underwood had some dealings with Samuel Pryor. This gives us some background showing us the type of neighbors and friends that my family had. This indicates to us that they were very involved in the legal and political happenings of the time. James lived in the Corn Creek area, of what eventually became Trimble Counlty. We believe that James lived in three different counties, Gallatin, Henry and Trimble, without moving. Thanks again, Rea and Woody Burnett
Dear R&W, It seems to me that Henry Co., was carved off Trimble Co. In the days of Samuel Pryor's Sheriff-ship, perhaps Trimble Co was much larger than it is today. Am I correct about his or was Henry Co. formed before 1820? I have ancestors from Owen Co, too, and it was formed about 1819.
