Hi Earl, I have a little bit of information that I received this last month at our family reunion in Triimble Co., Ky. My gggrandmother was Margaret Trout, her father was Daniel Trout and her mother was Eliza Mayfield, who was the daughter of Burdette Mayfield and his wife Mary (Polly) Coleman. Mary (Polly) Coleman, was a daughter of the Rev. Benjamin Coleman one of the first ministers at the old Corn Creek Baptist Church. He was born in Amherst County, VA, son of Daniel Coleman and Patience Elliott. He was ordained to preach in Virginia and came to Kentucky about 1800. The will of the Rev. Benjamin is recorded at LaGrange, Ky, for Trimble Co. was part of Oldham County at that time. His will lists sons: Daniel, Virgil and Wyatt Coleman, and daughters Sarah, Patience, Lucy, Elizabeth and Mary (Polly). When we drove past the Pierce home (near Sulpher Dam) we stopped at a small burying ground near this home, and there were some Colemans buried there. I am related to the Pierce family, Trout and Dougherty. The Colemans were also cousins, but this information was given to me by a Pierce relative. So really do not know much about the Coleman family. Hope this will help some in your search. Sharon
