Hi List, I am thinking these two men are one and the same. I also think the Dept. of Army made a mistake in the middle initial. This would explain why my husband's grandmother was researching William Pryor. He would have been her uncle, brother of Samuel P. Pryor and s/o George Woodford Pryor and Mary Connell. (KYRosterC) Published in 1915 Dept of the Army Washington DC 4 May 1948 "The Records show that William Pryor, name also found as William M. Pryor, a private of Company A, 4th Regiment Kentucky Cavalry, Confederate States Army, enlisted 10 September 1862 in Trimble County, Kentucky."
