    1. [KYTRIMBL] My Impossible BAKER Family - Any Help?
    2. Sue J
    3. Hi list, I am doing my husband's mtDNA and I can only go back as far as Isabella M. BAKER. I cannot find the maiden name of her mother and apparently, the father died before the 1850 census. My Isabella Baker was married to Anthony BARTLETT. Isabella was born abt. 1828 in Henry County, KY. She and Anthony were married in Henry County but later moved to Trimble County. They were married June 30, 1851. This is the information I have gleaned from the censuses from 1850 to 1880. In 1850 Isabella is living at home with her mother Mary and 4 siblings. The 1850 census does not state if Mary is a widow but there is never a husband mentioned in any census from 1850 forward. The children were all born in Henry County. Mary is stated as being born in TN. The names of the children were: Jane, born abt. 1824 Levi S. b. abt. 1826 Isabella b. abt. 1828 John H. b. abt. 1832 Sarah, b. abt. 1839 When I have gone forward with the children on the census, I can only find Isabella, Levi and John. I haven't been able to find the spouses of Jane and Sarah. On the later census records, Isabella states that her mother was born in VA yet the 2 boys say that she was born in TN and the father was born in PA. Mary is only on the 1850 and 1860 censuses so I assume she died by 1870. Can anyone untangle this mess and maybe give me maiden name of mother so I can continue with the line for mtDNA? So far, the female lines go MORGAN, PRYOR, BARTLETT and BAKER. That is not very much. I have tried Ancestry, Google, Genforum, Familysearch, Trimble County website and Henry County website without any success. Sue macduff@infionline.net
