    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1BB.2ACI/620.1 Message Board Post: Earl, I think this is your E.B. McCain, as well as his parents and one sibling. I have no connection with any of these surnames but took a look at the 1900 Census to see what I could find for you. 1900 Trimble Co., KY Census, Enumerated 4 June 1900 Bedford Town Page 230A, Dwelling 51, Family 54, Lines 46-50: McCain, Joseph W., Head, W, M, Apr 1845, 55, M, 34, -------------------------------Allabama, North Carolina, Virginia, -------------------------------Lawyer ------------, Kate D., Wife, W, F, Dec 1839, 60, M, 34, 8C, 3L, ---------------------------?Mississippi/Missouri, Kentucky, N. Not sure why Joseph is listed as Black but it is clearly written. Or, he could be the son of one of the 5 deceased children, or the son of the 1 living child that isn't listed with this family. I would further guess that the maiden name of Edward's mother, Kate, could be Bartlett - again, just speculation based on the sister-in-law's surname. There are, of course, other possibilities for the sister-in-law relationship. On the Place of Birth where I have ?Mississippi/Missouri, I think they are Mississippi but it was difficult to read. They both start with 'Miss' and end with 'i'. There weren't enough letters in between to be Mississippi and too many to be Missouri. Hope this helps. Good luck in your search. Jane
