HI, I'm new to the list but no stranger to Trimble County. Although I was born in Madison, Indiana I still have a lot of relatives in Trimble County. In fact, from my research the McClure's have been in the county since the 1840s when William McClure brought his bride, Jane Randall to the area. My question: My grandfather, Charles Tolbert McClure, was married three times. His first wife, Addie Nichols, of Jefferson County Indiana, left my grandfather with a daughter after her death. We always called this daughter "Aunt Bessie" who married Hurley Brown and moved to Wabash, Indiana where they are both now deceased. I have not been able to fine the birth of anyone under the name of Bessie McClure. Do any of you list members have any information on this marriage and birth? Thanks for your help. Gordon L. Hi: I've watched this list a long time, but my line never matches up = with anyone else. I never see Trimble Co. KY mentioned. My lineage starts with William Duncan of Culpeper Co., VA, and his wife = Ruth Rawleigh/Rawley, ca 1720. He had many children in Culpeper Co. VA. James Duncan was his youngest child, and after William's death ca 1780, = he and his wife, Sena (Asenath Browning) Duncan moved first to Bourbon = Co., KY for a couple of years, then on to Gallatin Co., KY. Many = reports state that James Duncan died in 1823, but I've found no records = to prove it. James and Sena Duncan's children were: 1. William m. Polly Connell, dau. of Jesse Connell and Nancy Lawson 2. Willis m. Jane Farley, dau. of Joseph and Polly Farley 3. Reuben m. Patsy Young (nee Johnston) 4. James m. Catherine Pryor, dau. of Samuel, 2) Lucy Pryor 5. Mary m. Rev. George Strother,=20 6. Sally m. Captain Jack Pryor 7. Ann m. Willis Jackson (Need help on #7) This family first settled in Gallatin and Henry Co. KY, but as new counties were formed, most of the family lived in Trimble Co., KY. . GEORGIA of CA
please check your systems for W32BadTrans.B infection; Perhaps if we can use the subject line as I did on this post we can get the message to those with infected machines? >From my machine, I can't even do reply to without getting the illegal performance message so I can't obtain the real address from File/Properties Just as it is important to work together to find our families and tear down our brick walls, I think it is important to try to help one another fight these danged virus/worms too! Hi All, It seems our list has been spammed again with the Trimble REsearch Site - this site is NOT for genealogy purposes - it is collecting and validating email addresses and when you go to visit the site it nails your email as an active working address. They are hitting all the counties and states in our GenWeb program. I am going to try to find a way to block them from posting to this list but dont' know if it is possible or not. I am sorry for the intrusion, but hope to spare some of you from this. The email was pretty much sent to all USGen Web county sites in an attempt to collect data. It appears to be privately owned and has nothing what so ever to do with Trimble County Genealogy. I would like to caution everyone that when you submit information to lists or sites on the web concerning your genealogy that you first and foremost protect the data of those still living. Do not submit information, dates, etc. for individuals who are alive. Many of these news sites that are cropping up are collecting data to be compiled into CD's or other collections to eventually be sold, giving no credit to you, the submitter. Please support those sites that offer this information freely. If we at the Trimble County KY KYGen Web site can assist you please do not hesitate to ask. Best wishes to you all, God Bless America Maggie Fallone Trimble County Genealogy http://www.online-isp.com/~maggie/trimble/index.htm

SOME CAME RUNNING (1958) with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Shirley McClaine is showing again at the Ohio Theatre (105 E. Main, Madison, Indiana) this week, at 7pm Central (8pm Eastern). And it is quite a good film; television doesn't do it justice. It is a unique experience to see a movie in a theater that actually appears in the film it is showing. So much of Madison is visable and the city has not changed much. The film is sponsored and tickets are free (but don't make the mistake of bringing the kids, it will bore them and they'll ruin the film for everyone else). I'm compiling a list of where various shots of the movie were filmed. If anyone knows any more, please drop me a line. What I have so far: Opening credits: Bus comes down big hill at Milton, Ky, passing the Longview Inn restaurant (the house with the pay telescopes). Exterior of Hirsh's Jewelry Store: 110 E. Main, almost directly across from the Ohio Theatre [Interior the same?]. Now an antique store. Exterior of Hotel where Dave Hirsh [Sinatra] stays: 301 Mulberry Street (NW corner of Second). [Lobby interior the same?]. Sinatra's Hotel Room interior: Apparently in building next to the Ohio Theatre (103 E. Main?), the Jewelry store is visable across the street in some shots. Smitty's Bar exterior: 302 Jefferson (NE Corner of Second) Fight outside of Smitty's: Second Street side of 302 Jefferson. Glass bricks and doorways still visable today. Hirsh House: I believe filmed on Hanover College Campus French House: A handout from last year described this as the "Hermosa Vista House." Scenes appear to be filmed at Hanover College. College: Hanover College Bus Station: 206-208 E. Second Street (according to handout from last year). Exterior of Bama's (Dean Martin) House: 748 West 3rd Street. [Interior the same?] Carnival: much of it staged on Jefferson between Main and Second Street; Ohio Theatre on Main Street visable in some scenes. Lanchak looks out window: Appears to be 103 Main Street, next to the Ohio Theatre. Perhaps the exterior side of Dave's [Sinatra] hotel room interior. Shooting at the end: A fellow attending the movie said this was in front of a building, no longer standing, near the corner of Jefferson and Second Streets. Cemetery in last scene: Moffett Cemetery on the hill behind Milton, Kentucky. Most of the stones visable in the movie were movie props, placed closer to the edge than actual gravestones. Interiors and exteriors were not always shot in the same place. If anyone knows any more filming locations, let me know.
