    3. Is the surname Fearn in the book? George Fearn helped start a Methodist church in Milton I believe in the 1870's. If there is anything on his family I would like to know. He was my greatgrandfather. 3. School records are around 1921 of much of the county. Church records are for years 1868 and some to 1883, different churches. Family files are some that connect to McEndre, Hunt, Gasaway, Alexander, Crim, Dailey, and McDowell. Lots of other interesting things from the past with stories and pictures. > what are the names of some families? > > Barbara J Hall > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Marguerite Miller" <margueri@iglou.com> > To: <KYTRIMBL-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, May 21, 2002 9:44 AM > Subject: [KYTRIMBLE] New Heritage Book VI, Trimble County > > > > The new Heritage Book Vol. VI is now ready. 1. Re: [KYTRIMBLE] Virus
    2. Hello all, The new virus going around can only be obtained if you download something attached to an email. I have received COUNTLESS emails from addresses of people I know to be good people - but this new virus is making it seem your family and friends are sending you something (via attachment). I must get 10-20 per day. This list is for messages - not attachments - so if you are on the list AND see that an attachment is present, DO NOT DOWNLOAD. Likewise, if you have a legitimate something you want to attach as a download, please make private arrangements with the recipient and send it to them at their own address. When you do that, contact them first, tell them the type of file (jpg, doc, etc) and the name so that when they receive it they know exactly what it is. I have made it my personal policy to not download anything anymore from anyone without prior knowledge of it. Knocking on wood, it has so far kept me free of viruses. I did receive and email from someone asking me about an attachment to an email I had sent them - as it turns out, in fact, I did NOT send the email - rather, my email had been absconded and used to make it look that way. So you really can't trust any attachment unless you clarify it ahead of time. The bad guys always seem to be one step ahead of us! If you have received a virus from this list, I am truly sorry - but I cannot reiterate enough - DO NOT OPEN ANY ATTACHMENT - whether from this list or any other place you consider to be a safe haven - UNTIL you have verified its authenticity. Best wishes, Maggie Fallone @ Trimble County

    1. [KYTRIMBLE] Nancy:Foster/Bain
    2. D. Bain
    3. Hi Nancy: This world just seems to get smaller. First let me say your info on Thomas Foster having a brother Anthony who married Martha Talliaferro was interesting. On some of the information I found, I saw where Johnson Bain/Bean's property was used as a reference marker when Wm Bacon sold propery of 110 acres on the north side of the Buffalo to Zach Taliaferro. This same Zach, or I believe it is, turns up in another deed were he and Baldwin Bain(so far connection unknown) served as witnesses on a Dillard deed who was from the same area ( north side of Buffalo). So they apparently lived together. What Kind of info do I need? That is one of those questions you probably should never ask a genealogist, the obvious answer is everything, Ha. But any help you could give I would appreciate. My email is dbpb@hotmail.com. I am fairly sure Thomas and Dorothy had a daughter named Hannah who married Johnson Bain/Bean. I have no information on the date or location of the marriage. Or information on Hannah's date of death or location of death. I have basically little information on the Foster's other than the tree on LDS. Any help you could lend me to strengthen the connection between Hannah and Johnson would be appreciated or any info on her family, members etc. If I ask too much please forgive me. I would be glad to share what info I have on my line or the Foster's (though that is limited). 3. I tried to contact Kitty Anderson who contributed the Foster Family tree on the Trimble Web site. The e-mail address came back, so I was hoping to contact her via the list. If anyone knows her new e-mail address could you pass it own or maybe she will see the message listed below. Kitty: I saw your Foster family tree on the Trimble Co. Web page. I think we may have communicated once before. My gggggrandfather, was Johnson Bain/Bean. He married Hannah Foster, the daughter of Thomas Foster and Dorothy Gatewood. I had never noticed your Sarah, probably being her sister (maybe). My records show Hannah was likely born around 1748, and probably in Amherst or Ablemarle, VA. I was wondering if you have any information on Hannah, like birth or death records. I can not find where she came to Kentucky, but believe that she and Johnson sold their property in VA around 1795, so I assume she came to Kentucky. I would love to correspond with you about the Fosters and what you know about Thomas and Dorothy, his parents you have listed, and any other insight you have into this family. I would appreciate any assistance you could lend me. I will certainly share any information I have on the Bain side. Please contact me at dbpb@hotmail.com. Will Look forward to hearing from you. 3. Hi... Thomas Foster and Dorothy Gatewood were my 5gr grandparents also. My line goes to their daughter Sarah Foster and Wm. Gatewood to their son Wm. Gatewood and his wife Mildred Wright to Sarah Gatewood and her husband Charles B Cooke and their daughter Virginia Cooke and Wm. Goode to James Goode and Elizabeth Drake to Mildred Goode and William Parson and then me Nancy Parson. I have some more on this line --- not a GREAT deal. I do show the county in question was Amherst Co VA. Thomas Foster had a brother Anthony who married Martha Talliaferro and in turn they had off spring who in- married Foster/Gatewood cousins. There all wound up in the Henry/Trimble Co KY area. A husband of a distant cousin did a good bit of research on these lines and that is where I got most of my info. This husband was a Prof. at Eastern KY Univ. and I respect his research. What info are you seeking in particular?? I will see if I have it on record. Nancy Demaree "D. 3. Dear Listers, On the Foster question, let me add that Mary Polly Drake married Isaac Foster in what is now Scott Co., KY about 1792. I am almost positive that Isaac was from VA and I know that Polly's dad, James Francis Drake lived in VA as a youngster but was from England, arriving in America ca. 1750. And a Martha Foster married Wm Clark, Sr. in Orange Co., VA about 1752. This Wm Clark is not the Lewis & Clark family but they called each other "cousin." 3. Sue, Don't feel bad! I found your listing of the initials very helpful. I have always wondered about those initials and never know how to understand them. I am grateful that you sent the information. As far as the error on spelling, most of us probably knew what you meant and didn't even notice the mistake, at least I didn't. But now that you pointed it out, I think it is really funny. So think of that way, you just gave us a good laugh!
