I do believe that Mays were one of the family names way back when that my family married into. How far back do you go with your Starkeys? and from where? Do you know anything about a Charles Starkey who m. in Carroll Co. early in the 1900's? My Hugh K's daughter "Lizzie" married a Thompson, so they were around Jefferson co. In. and dau. Ida Bell married a Dunn, Charles Richard moved in Indpls, and Kate M., another daughter married a Klinger. The only one who stayed was Ida Belle Dunn(my line) and Lizzie was in Indiana. they were all around Carroll in the 1860's which is when Hugh m. Fannie E. Morrison. They seem to have gone to Ohio to have the kids, but lived in Carroll co. at Locust. Roslyn ----- Original
Thanks for trying, but we are talking 1860 and I don't know of any other family members around here at present. Once again.......I am against a brick wall. Anyone have a hammer? :o) Janet

Lisa, I goofed!!! LaVerne is still living and is near her two daughters in Dayton, OH. I knew she wasn't very well when Junior died and I thought she was dead too. I called Junior's sister in Madison IN and she told me LaVerne bought a house in Dayton near two of her daughters. You can reach me if you care to at vtaylor@iglou.com Virginia
Hi Janet, According to my stepdad the Odd Fellows do not keep records of anything like that. Something I have noticed around here is that it is usually a family thing. At least 3 generations of the men in our family have been Odd Fellows, so it is possible he joined because his father or brother was a member also. The Odd fellows should have a local chapter in the city/county where your family member is from. You may try looking them up and contacting them. They also have a chapter for women called the Rebecca's and perhaps his wife and or daughters were members of that. I can say that it is a great organization and if any one here has ever considered it, it is well worth it. They have helped my family alot. Me and my husband are in the process of joining and they even have a youth division for children. Virginia, I could reach through this computer and hug your neck! So both Victor and Laverne are deceased? Would it be possible to get a copy of their obits, just typed up or something? Laverne was my First cousin, twice removed. My great Aunt, her first cousin and I have been desperately seeking this family. Anything you could provide me would be greatly appreciated.
