I was very sorry to see the notice of Violet Morris Jennings' death in the Courier-Journal. I recently received the books I had ordered from her, and had intended to write her to ask for help with my Kendall connection but waited too long. How swiftly time goes by! I am glad she passed peacefully. Sincerely, Violet Wirth

Thanks for letting us know. I met Violet in the early 90s and she helped me with my Jacobs-Kendall families genealogy. I met her at the KY Historical Society Library here in Frankfort. I haven't seen for about 2 years at the library. I thought a lot of her and have kept up with her through Virginia Taylor. I really appreciate you letting us know. I'm sure I'll probably hear from Virginia. Betty Dawkins
Hi Maggie, thank you for letting us know. I send my condolences to Violet's family and friends. Roslyn
Good Morning, I am sorry and very sad to announce that our dear Violet Jennings, past president of the Trimble County Historical Society has passed away, peacefully, in her sleep, yesterday morning, November 10, 2004. I first met Violet via letters back and forth - her generous and helpful spirit always dug up some new family information for me. A few years ago, Ihad the pleasure of visiting Trimble in person. Violet met me in Bedford at the IOOF Cemtery and gave me a whirlwind tour. Then it was off to Bedford and the library -- where she showed me the holdings that the Historical Society had gathered thru the years. If you live in the Trimble County area, she will be laid out Friday at 5PM at the Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford and her funeral will be at 11 the following day. Hi again, I checked the names on the 1860 Census, it appears that William had a daughter by the name of Sarah who was around 12 at the time. -----Original Message----- From: shotgun [mailto:shotgun@sound.net] Sent: Thursday, September 09, 2004 6:16 PM To: KYTRIMBL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYTRIMBLE] Anyone live by the IOOf cemetery in Bedford? I want to share this with permission of Lorine Dornin who is the original author. She was sharing some good resources she have located recently through the rootsweb mailing list. I also want to question to see if anyone has the new version and their thoughts on upgrading. *************************************************** Here are a few of my top ones I found most useful: http://www.uswars.net/1775-1783/ List of most units and battles of the revolutionary war. http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Great for finding civil war ancestors. http://www.genealogyinc.com/maps/uscf.htm Links to county formation maps. Neat to see how county lines have changed over the years and how you can live in the same location but be located in 3 different counties in a 10 year time frame. http://www.mycensusmaps.com Links to county Census maps. Kinda like the above link only shows every ten years and overlays the previous census year so you can compare the two. VERY USEFUL. http://www.ftm2005.com/ The newest version of Familytreemaker just came out. This site shows how much they changed the format from ftm 11. I am wanting to know from someone if it looks like a good investment to purchase the program or just stick with version 11. *************************************************
checking to see if I am still subscribed. -----
Looking for Dunn, Foster, Rodgers Coghill,Harmon,Littlejohn,Starkey,Morrison,Cox, Eldridge, Chappel, and Williams who married into Thompson, Adams, Wright, Corn, Dickens,Yelton, McDole(McDowell), Lunsford, and tons of others. All around Trimble, Henry, Carroll County Kentucky from the late 1700's up into the middle of the 1900's. I am sure there are still a lot of them still in the area. Roslyn
Has the Trimble co. site been inactive or is the last message (dated April 1) the last one? roslyn ----- Original Message
