    1. [KYTRIMBL] National Archives goes digital
    2. By Dan Caterinicchia, The Associated Press WASHINGTON — Anyone interested in finding out who the FBI was investigating before it became the FBI or seeing the works of noted Civil War photographer Mathew Brady will soon be able to do so digitally. Footnote already has digitized 4.5 million pages of historical records and recently signed an agreement with the National Archives to digitize millions more. Initially, subscriptions cost $99.95 annually, $9.95 monthly or $1.99 per image through Footnote's website. Digitized materials will be available for free by Feb. 6 at two facilities in the Washington area and at regional locations in 11 states, according to Archives' spokeswoman Laura Diachenko. After five years, all images digitized through the agreement will be available for free on the National Archives website. Footnote, based in Lindon, Utah, already has posted Brady's photographs and Bureau of Investigation case files from 1908 through 1922, when it was tasked with investigating violations of national banking, bankruptcy, naturalization, antitrust and land fraud laws. When the nation entered World War I in 1917, the bureau acquired additional espionage and sabotage responsibilities. It did not officially become the FBI until 1935. The next batch of materials to be brought into the Digital Age will be the Archives' sizable collection of materials currently on microfilm, according to the agency. But the agreement with Footnote is "non-exclusive," which means the Archives can make similar deals with other companies, like it did recently with Google to digitize some films, Diachenko said. 1. [KYTRIMBL] Sterling, John D. b. about 1839 and wife Catherine Ferguson b. 1843
    2. Good afternoon! I am hoping to find someone that can help fill in some blanks for me on the family of John Sterling b. about 1839 in KY. He married Catherine Ferguson. I do not have a marriage date. I believe her parents were Jacob Ferguson and Elisa Ann ______. I have found the Sterling family on the 1870, 1880 and the widow Sterling in 1900 living with son John D. Sterling. Their daughter, Caroline (Callie) married Henry Clay King 1889 in Jefferson Co. IN. I would love to find out who John's parents' were, when his wife Catherine died, and what was the maiden name of Catherine's mother. Hope to hear from someone! 2. Martha, It just keeps getting better! I haven't worked on these lines for a while. But Oliver Perry Harmon was a brother to my Virginia Harmon. She married John Wesley Law! Their son Frank Law married Mary "Mollie" Richmond. Daughter of Andrew Jackson Richmond. I have to look at it again but some where the double cousin comes in! I was looking up Rev War records today & found a Michael & Robert Humble who served. Robert died 26 March 1840. His wife Ann passed away 8 Feb. 1857 leaving two living children. A Nancy Mathews & Abigail Dougherty. Maybe it will help someone out there! All I have on George Harmon is his mother's name was Nancy b. VA about 1792. I'll keep searching! Becky

    2. Hi, My husband descends through Oliver Perry Harmon and Agnes A. Richmond. I haven't been able to find Mary Ann Humble's father's name either. I know the Gammon line came from Va. to Washington County, Kentucky then on to Trimble County. Does anyone know if the Harmon's came through the same way? I am trying to find where Womac Parker Gammon's wife is buried too. I have been to Oliver Perry and Agnes's grave. Thanks for the information on Charity's son Joseph maybe that will help me.
