Fellow genealogists and anyone concerned with preserving our sacred cemeteries, The History Channel and Time Warner are sponsoring a 'Save Our History' grant award for which anyone can go online and cast their vote. Voting ends THIS FRIDAY April 27th, so time is short. We were fortunate that our restoration project was chosen as a finalist. The JCOGS is the only genealogy society or cemetery project to be chosen as one of the five finalists, so I truly hope that you will go to the Time Warner website and cast your vote for the James Cemetery project. If awarded this grant, we will use 100% of the grant to begin installing an antique-style aluminum alloy fence around the perimeter in order to help halt further desecration of this sacred and historic burial ground. You can read more about our James Cemetery project at the Time Warner 'Save Our History' voting website. Please unite with us as a group of genealogists concerned about the ever-increasing destruction of our cemeteries by VOTING for us at the website below. And note also that ANYONE with Internet access can VOTE so please forward this email to your genealogy circle of friends and ask THEM to vote too! Hi list, I am doing my husband's mtDNA and I can only go back as far as Isabella M. BAKER. I cannot find the maiden name of her mother and apparently, the father died before the 1850 census. My Isabella Baker was married to Anthony BARTLETT. Isabella was born abt. 1828 in Henry County, KY. She and Anthony were married in Henry County but later moved to Trimble County. They were married June 30, 1851. This is the information I have gleaned from the censuses from 1850 to 1880. In 1850 Isabella is living at home with her mother Mary and 4 siblings. The 1850 census does not state if Mary is a widow but there is never a husband mentioned in any census from 1850 forward. The children were all born in Henry County. Mary is stated as being born in TN. The names of the children were: Jane, born abt. 1824 Levi S. b. abt. 1826 Isabella b. abt. 1828 John H. b. abt. 1832 Sarah, b. abt. 1839 When I have gone forward with the children on the census, I can only find Isabella, Levi and John. I haven't been able to find the spouses of Jane and Sarah. On the later census records, Isabella states that her mother was born in VA yet the 2 boys say that she was born in TN and the father was born in PA. Mary is only on the 1850 and 1860 censuses so I assume she died by 1870. Can anyone untangle this mess and maybe give me maiden name of mother so I can continue with the line for mtDNA? So far, the female lines go MORGAN, PRYOR, BARTLETT and BAKER. That is not very much. I have tried Ancestry, Google, Genforum, Familysearch, Trimble County website and Henry County website without any success. Sue macduff@infionline.net

I received a query about Olivia Ann Lorch being a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy. The name of the Chapter was, they thought, the "Taylor Pryor" or "Tyler Pryor" Chapter. The chapter in Carroll County that I know about was the Thomas M. Barrett Chapter, so I was wondering what the name of some nearby chapters were, such as the one in Trimble County. I know Moses Tandy Pryor was a local Confederate, maybe this information is a garbled reference to a "Tandy Pryor" Chapter? What was the name of the Trimble County chapter? Does anyone know? Bill Davis
Sorry list, Somehow, I hit the send button before I put anything in the message. Let's try again. Hi List, I am trying to find the parents of Isabel - Isabella BAKER who was born abt. 1828. I am not sure if she was born in Henry County but she was married in Henry County, 30 June 1851. If I found the correct 1850 census, her mother's name would be Mary but there was no mention of a father on that census. I do not have names of siblings to match up with that census. Isabella married Anthony J. BARTLETT who was born in New Castle, Henry County abt. 1819. I do not know the names of his parents, either. By the 1880 census, Isabella, Anthony and their children were living in Trimble County. Anthony was a Lawyer by 1880. They had 7 children. I am getting ready to do my husband's maternal Genealogy DNA and I can only get back to Isabella. That is not very far. The maternal names change with each generation for direct maternal DNA. So far, I have MORGAN, PRYOR, BARTLETT and BAKER, all from Trimble and Henry Counties. Thanks for any help you can give me on this brick wall. I have tried Roots, Genforum, FamilySearch, Google, etc. with no success. Even they Henry County website was not any help unless I missed something. Anthony's and his parents were from KY, according to 1880 Trimble County census. Isabel-Isabella was from KY but her parents were from VA. 1880 Census: Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Anthony BARTLETT Self M Male W 60 KY Lawyer KY KY Isabel BARTLETT Wife M Female W 52 KY Keeping House VA VA Nannie BARTLETT Dau S Female W 21 KY At Home KY KY George BARTLETT Son S Male W 17 KY At Home KY KY Harry BARTLETT Son S Male W 14 KY At Home KY KY Isabel BARTLETT Dau S Female W 10 KY KY KY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- --------- Source Information: Census Place Bedford, Trimble, Kentucky Family History Library Film 1254443 NA Film Number T9-0443 Page Number 475D Sue macduff@infionline.net

Merchant Tailor and land developer in Cinci (East Walnut Hills (St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church parish). During the early 1830's there were a number Detmers departing from Damme. He married a Breckinan or Breckman. So far your Detmers that went to the US don't seem to link to ours that settled in Cleveland, then Cincy (1850's), then Chicago. Our G.H. No marriage records are published for that year for Trimble Co. I checked the Jefferson Co. IN records I have, and there was a Geroge M. McMurray that married an Ellen Baker on April 18, 1881, but no Izorah McIntire. The only other source you might want to check are the marriage bonds for Trimble County. The state archives in Frankfort has these. ________________________________ From: kytrimbl-bounces@rootsweb.com on behalf of KPhill2906@aol.com Sent: Sat 2/3/2007 3:52 PM To: KYTRIMBL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [KYTRIMBL] George McMurray/Izorah McIntire I am hoping someone can do a lookup marriage for me. Hi Becky: I would be interested in knowing the location of the McIntire Cemetery, and I know of several others that are interested also. We are all interested in the older family of McIntires. Hugh Teabury, McIntire, Sr. and Sara Gardner McIntire were the parents of 14 children, with birthdates starting in 1818, and many of them were dead by 1875. The childrens names were: Thomas, William, Daniel Cox, Gemima, Stephen D., Mariah, Hugh, Nancy Gardner, Eliza Ann, James Gardner, Patrick, Sally Jane, Hannibal Trout. I would appreciate anything you are able to supply for all of us.
