Pleasant Methodist Cemetery I found it to be in deplorable condition. A majority of the stones are still readable as they are marble. But they are stacked against trees, broken or buried in the ground. Many stones I could not find at all. I would very much like to see this cemetery restored as I have many early relatives, Rowlett and Averitt, buried there and I feel it is a real history of these people many of whom came from Virginia. I am trying to get this cemetery restored. I need help from anybody interested in this cemetery. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Buer is a quarter of our city and only 8 kilometers away from my home. I visited the church of Buer some weeks ago to look into the old church books to find something out about my ancestors. By surfing the internet I found out where the emigrants live in the USA and whom they married. Your Ernest Henry Raker was father of August Raker and Mary Louise Catharine Raker who married into my Thieman family. One brother of my great-great-great-grandfather emigrated with his family to the USA in the 1870s. My family stayed here in Germany so that I am still here today. If you want to, you can contact me at thorsten.thiemann@osnanet.de If you send me your e-mail-adress I can send you a screenshot of my family tree to see how it all belongs together. My question: How are you related to Ernest Henry Raker? Are you a descendant of him? Do you have more data for me? Perhaps we can exchange some information. I'm looking forward for your reply. Greetings from Germany, Thorsten Thiemann P.S. Sorry for my language, I hope you can understand my english, I do not speak it so often.
