    1. [KYTRIGG] Sharing Obituary and Memorials
    2. I placed types the following in my FTM files tonight. My father looked up to sister, Josephine as he was growing up. Tears would come from my daddy's eyes everytime he spoke of her. These touched me greatly this evening, and I wanted to share. How I wish I would have been able to know her! Josephine Grigsby Broadbent Succumbs Funeral Rites Held Saturday Afternoon Josephine Grigsby Broadbent, 29, wife of Felix Ewing Broadbent died Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Jennie Stewart Hospital, Hopkinsville, after a week's illness. She suffered an acute attack of appendicitis and was rushed to the hospital where she underwent an appendectomy, but her condition grew steadily worse, and the end came Friday afternoon in spite of all that medical skill and loving hands could do. Mrs. Broadbent, daughter of Georgia McAtee Grigsby and the late Jack Grigsby, was born Dec. 7th, 1911. Trigg County, where she spent her entire life. She was married May 8, 1929 to Felix Ewing Broadbent. of this county, and to this union were born two children, Louise and Jack, both of whom survive. When quite young she united with the Cadiz Christian Church and remained a consistent and loyal member until her demise. She was graduated from the Cadiz High School in the class of 1929. Mrs. Broadbent, better known as "Josephine" by her intimate friends, was truly a sweet Christian character as was exemplified in her everyday life. She was always faithful and loyal to every obligation and met every duty willingly. Being a woman of striking personality, she was loved by all who were privileged to know her. At the time of her death she was associated with Glenn's Store and assistant teacher at Trigg County High. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Bethel Church, the Rev. Cave, Hopkinsville Christian Church, officiating and interment followed at Bethel cemetery. Pallbearers were: Henry, Oscar, John and Robert Grigsby, James and Leslie Broadbent. Surviving besides her husband and children are her mother, Mrs. Georgia G. Mitchell, four brothers, Henry, Oscar, John and Robert Grigsby all of Trigg county, a maternal grandmother, Mrs. Anna McAtee and many other relatives. MRS. EUEN BROADBENT DIES By Charlene Jones The joys of Christmastide was dimmed by the sorrow brought with the departure of the spirit of Mrs. Euen Broadbent fro this troubleworn earth. She will be missed everywhere because everywhere she went people loved her. Especially will she be missed at Trigg County High. She was employed as a teacher to help those who have trouble with their reading, spelling, writing, and mathematics. She had managed with success this task assigned as she did everything she undertook. So the students take this opportunity to express their sympathy to the bereaved husband and children. In Memory Of Josephine Grigsby Broadbent On Thursday, Dec. 27, near the hour of three in the afternoon our heavenly Father and ruler over heaven and earth raised his eyes and with a beckoning hand said come! Come unto me, ye who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest. To this signal the beautiful spirit of Mrs. Josephine Grigsby Broadbent took its heavenly homeward flight and on earth splendid life of Mrs. Broadbent came to an end. The passing was so peaceful that the loved ones, heavy with grief, their aching, tear dimmed eyes saw but the shadow fall and hardly knew when o rin what fair or unfamiliar guise the spirit left the work of men. It broke from sickness which had kept her bedfast only a few days and which medical skill, prayer and love itself with its restraining hands could not its course delay. She fell asleep outwearied with the strife and arose next morning to meet the dawn of ever lasting life. Having finished her work on earth her new work begun again the next morning. The tomb is not a blind alley, it is a thoroughfare. It closes on the twilight, and opens on the dawn. Those who knew Josephine loved her dearly. Her charming grace and splendid personality made her many friends who were very grieved by her passing so early in life. We would say in the blood of youth. She loved her family and friends and to do something for the comfort and happiness of others was her pleasure and delight. It can be truly said she never complained and always spoke well of her acquaintances. A Friend
