I am searching for verification of his parents and Grandparents. James Phillips posted a GED.COM on Rootsweb indicating that John Chappell Cox' father was John C. Cox, b. in Trigg Co. in 1836 and married to Emeline Guthrie.They had known children John C. (my G-Grandfather), Virginia, James Irby, Anna, Nellie or Nettie, and Susan. According to the GED.COM file, which has since disappeared from RootsWeb, the father of John C.was Chapley Cox, born in Trigg Co. in 1815. He married Oneida Goode. Chapley died in 1837 shortly after John C. Cox was born and Oneida Goode Cox remarried (Elisha Ladd). John C. Cox is listed on the 1850 Trigg Co. Census living with his Elisha Ladd and Oneida and family. 1880 Trigg County census listing John C. Cox living with Emeline (now widowed) and his brothers and sisters. Can anyone verify this information? John C. Cox and Sibbie Martin had children as follows, John Roy (b. 1895) my grandfather, Lydia (1897), Emma Goebel (1900), Pugh Claude (1903), Ruby (1905), Mellie (1909) who is still living, and Hubert (1913). James Irby Cox, brother of John C. is known to have had several children, including Henry (1919) and Nealey (1921) Can anyone verify this ancestry?
