Since the list is quiet, I thought we could reminesse together.... Hope we get a good thread going. Cher Mama and Snuff >From the beginning of my time until after I left home my grandmother Dana Dotson, lived with my Mother and Dad. Mama had her own room, tv to watch 'her ' shows, and a rocker in the corner of her room flanked by two windows.... A beautiful sunny view too... She could see me get on and off the bus from school....and she waited for me while she wouldbe watching "As the World Turns" . She was a snuff dipper.. not just any snuff.. Bruton snuff... She would have her coffee can with a paper bag in it with the edges turned down over the lip of the can... or if she was out of bags she could fold the newspaper into the neatest pouch.. and make it fit really snug in the can... I always loved to watch her do that. Mother hated the 'habit' but, tolerated it as long as company wasnt around.. Mama wouldnt dip if we had company.<VBG> I remember coming home from school and rushing to Mama's room to fill her in on my day ... and hurrying to unwrap my tootsy roll, climb into the rocker beside her bed and chew the cud, until I could 'spit my backy' like Mama.... I had tasted snuff and found it to be too hot for my palate, and Tootsie rolls more flavorful if I accidentially swallowed... What a wonderful memory.... Cher
