William Henry Perrin in his history of Trigg Co., KY mentions that Allen Grace was among the first permanent settlers of that county. David Grace was the third son of Allen Grace and he settled a short distance up the hollow from the village of Golden Pond. Eurie Pearl Willford Neel in her Statistical Hand Book of Trigg Co. mentions that Allen Grace helped to organize the first county court of Trigg Co. The court met several times at his home before the building of the courthouse. The tax rolls show Allen Grace in Christian Co. in 1805-1808, in Caldwell Co. in 1809-1819 and in Trigg Co. in 1820-1828. The county boundaries changed, but it seems Allen Grace's property remained in the same spot. This family came from Surry Co., NC. Allen Grace had married Christenia Lash, probably of Moravian background (but not proved). Did others come with them to this part of Jackson Purchase? E.W.Wallace Descendant of Allen Grace
