Feel free to forward to any other interested parties or mail lists. ~Sherri Kentucky Cemetery Preservation Fund The Department for Local Government (DLG) is accepting applications for the second round of grants from the Kentucky Cemetery Preservation Fund. Funds from this program may be used to restore or maintain any nonprofit cemetery that does not receive perpetual care funds. About $423,000 for local grants will be available in the second round. Grants may range from $1,000 to $25,000, and a one-to-one local cash match is required. Applications will be due at DLG with a postmark date no later than March 31, 2004. Successful applicants will be notified on or about May 14, 2004.The program's authorizing legislation provides that five-member county cemetery boards, appointed by the county judge/executive with the approval of the fiscal court, are to be established to apply for grants.
