Tim and et al., That Ezell connection has been niggling at my brain for the last few days so I thought I would go back through some of my notes that I haven't entered into my computer yet. Here is what I have. William Lewis Ezell was born 29 Dec 1787 in Sussex Co., VA. He was the son of Gilliam Ezell and Nancy Slaughter. He died 13 Sep 1841 in Trigg Co., KY. He married Jane Joiner, daughter of Thomas Joyner and Patience Wester, about 1812 in probably KY or TN. Jane Joiner was born, according to some records, 31 May 1793 in NC. She died 20 Sep 1867 in Canton, Trigg, KY. Children of this marriage: 1. William Barnett Ezell (b. 3 Jul 1813 in Trigg Co., KY and died 20 Jan 1838 in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas) 2. Warren G. Ezell (b. 11 Mar 1817 in Trigg Co., KY -- no other info listed) 3. Abigail Ezell (b. 11 May 1820 in Trigg Co., KY and is listed as having died in Stewart Co., TN) 4. Eli W. Ezell (b. 22 Sep 1822 in Trigg Co., KY and died 21 Aug 1841 in probably Trigg Co., KY) 5. Samuel Dunlap Ezell (b. 2 Oct 1824 in Canton, Trigg, KY and died 1915/1916 in TX) 6. Susan A. Ezell (b. 4 Mar 1826 in Trigg Co., KY and died 27 Oct 1852 in Canton, Trigg, KY) 7. Nancy Ezell (b. abt 1829 in Trigg Co., KY) 8. Gillum Merritt Ezell (b. 14 Jun 1829 in Trigg Co., KY and died 18 Nov 1908 in Louisville, Clay, IL) 9. Thomas "G" or "H" Ezell (b. 25 Sep 1831 in Trigg Co., KY and died 18 Feb 1863 in Vicksburg, Mississippi) 10. Elizabeh A. Ezell (b. abt 1833 in Trigg Co., KY) 11. Marcipa Ezell (b. 1835 in Trigg Co., KY) Another child of Thomas and Patience Wester Joiner/Joyner also married into the Ezell family, the same Gilliam Ezell and Nancy Slaughter. Thomas Joiner was born 10 Feb 1797 in Nash Co., NC. He died 21 Dec 1863 in Christian Co., KY. He's buried in Lafayette, Christian, KY. On 6 Feb 1817, in Christian Co., KY he married Nancy Y. Ezell, daughter of Gilliam Ezell and Nancy Slaughter. She was born 1798 and died 25 May 1863 in Christian Co., KY. Children of Thomas and Nancy: 1. Elizabeth Jane Joiner (b. abt 1817 and died 25 May 1863 in probably Trigg Co., KY, she married a Jason Ezell, but right now I don't know how he connects) 2. Nathan Joiner (b. 1818 in Trigg Co., KY) m. Nancy Gourley 3. Mary Ann Joiner (b. 4 Jul 1819 in Christian Co., KY and died 28 Feb 1870 in Christian Co., KY) m. Samuel F. Gourley -- I don't currently have any children listed from this marriage. 4. Thomas Joiner III -- according to another Joiner resource and a quote by a Robert Tinnon Joiner, this Thomas moved to Arkansas and then from legal papers says he was in Middle Brook, MO in 1866 -- currently no other information known. 5. Israel Green Joiner (b. 31 Dec 1836 and died 30 Jan 1919) m. Mary Elizabeth Hudson of Stewart Co., TN, daughter of Richard Hudson and Hannah Ewing Boyd.
