This new book tells the story of a Western Kentucky cavalry company from Hopkins, Caldwell, and Christian Counties that served in Col. Adam R. Johnson’s 10th Kentucky Partisan Rangers and Gen. John Hunt Morgan’s Cavalry during the Civil War. The men that served in Company K, commanded by Capt. William C. Dimmitt and, later, Capt. John H. Hamby, fought in skirmishes at Madisonville, Owensboro, and Ashbysburg, as well as taking part in Gen. Morgan's famous Christmas Raid and Indiana-Ohio Raid. The book includes eight photos and a detailed roster of the company, with the soldiers’ compiled service records and biographical information when available.
