Mildred Armstrong Shemwell, daughter of Andrew and Elmira Armstrong, was my ggg grandmother through my maternal line. Just wondering if you every received answers to your questions on their parentage or have more information on this line? I have been doing genealogy for a long time, but never traced this line in particular and would love to know more. Did you prove Elmira being a McCoy or not? Any more certain that they came from NC? I found reference in Christian County to a Benjamin and Jean Armstrong coming from NC in 1804 with a large family and wondered if there could be any connection there. I would love to hear anything you have to share.
