It is Odell Walker's new book (pub. 2002) "In Lyon County, Saturday was Town Day" Part 1. A wide range of subjects from history to folklore... Part 2. A history of Lyon Co. one-room schools... Part 3. A brief history of churches from Between the Rivers... Part 4. A brief history of other churches in Lyon County..... "Most of the material in this book is from previously published articles in The Herald-Ledger, Eddyville, Ky. " It is a companion to his first book pub. 1994, "Profiles of the Past" It is, what I have read, (so far) a very interesting book, with a lot of Lyon Co. history contained in its pages. Would appear to be a must for any Lyon Co. researcher or history buff... Do you have the latest BOAZ BOOK done by another ancestor (I can't locate the book right at this minute, am in the process of preparing to move). It was done about three years ago and is very well done. Many changes from Hiram Boaz's book (which I have also). My descending ancestry is R.D., Henry Leighton, Evan Daniel, and my Mom, Lula P. Boaz. Leighton's father was Meshach (very little info on him), do you have any further info on him? Then Thomas m. Eleanor Archdeacon. This info was readily available so you probably have it. I have a Sholar in my family. Hardiman Dunning bn abt 1776 in Bertie Co NC married Winifred Ann Sholar bn 1776 in Ireland, in 1794 in Bertie Co, NC. They came to Wallonia, Trigg Co, about 1802, their 3rd child was born in 1800 in NC and their 4th child was born in 1804 in Wallonia. I haven't been able to find Winifred's parents. I also have a friend who is related to the Sholars from Cerulean Springs, but we have been unable to make a connection.
