This was posted by Sandy Morse on another site.... Please mark your calendars for July 12, 2003 for the Oliver-Jones Cemetery reunion. It's pot luck so bring enough food to feed your family....we spread it on a table & everybody shares. Lunch is served at noon usually. This year I've put together a 2 generation report on everyone who's buried there. Please bring lawn chairs To get to Oliver-Jones Cemetery from Princeton, Ky. Starting from the Caldwell County Courthouse go south on South Jefferson Street, this will run into Highway 293 S. Go approximately 2 miles out of town and turn left on Highway 903. Follow Highway 903 to Highway 730. Turn to the right on Highway 730. Go to the first Blacktop road to the right, this is Eddy Creek Road. On Eddy Creek Road go to the second blacktop road to the right, this will be Oliver Cemetery Road. Go to the "Y" in the road at the barn and bear to the right. Oliver-Jones Cemetery will be on the left approximately .2 miles. Hope to see y'all out there. ********************************************************************** *****Your kygenweb homepages are***** CALDWELL http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/caldwell.html LYON http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/lyon.html TRIGG http://www.kyseeker.com/trigg/index.html **********************************************************************
>From HUMOR Rootsweb Review June 25, 2003 Thanks to: Patrick Stone pstone8@msn.com The 1880 U.S. census lists a certain boarding house in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The place seems respectable enough; it houses a real estate dealer, a lawyer, a private secretary, an agent for type writer [sic], bookseller, cloth merchant, and a silverware dealer. But the landlady (who presumably provided the information for the enumerator) seems to have found one occupant less than upright -- she listed poor Emil VON CUNDECK's occupation as "Unknown -- Probably Swindler!" * * * Previously published in RootsWeb Review: Vol. 6, No. 26, 25 June 2003. * * * \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ----oOOo-(_)-oOOo----McGillekehr ********************************************************************** *****Your kygenweb homepages are***** CALDWELL http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/caldwell.html LYON http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/lyon.html TRIGG http://www.kyseeker.com/trigg/index.html **********************************************************************
Bud, This is not for my 2 William Youngs. The one who died in 1826 was married to Ellender McClerkin, The one who died in 1845 was married to Elizabeth Humphries. There was a William G Young who also died in 1826 who was married to Polly unknown. I think that William was the name given to at least one of each of both of the Williams brother's children. Either that or William got married much more that the average man if you look at the marriage records. This indenture was too early for either of them but thank you so much for your thoughtfulness. Susan
Sorry Mimi, neither of those rings a bell before 1850.

Oops, Male Children. sorry, susan
Dear listmembers. I am looking for my Young line that settled in Trigg Co by 1810. It was Christian at that time. They didn't move, the county divided. I cannot find any buriels for any of the earlier settlers except for Ferdinand Young and his wife. What happened to William Young, who died in 1926 His son William Young who died in 1845, their wives, their infant deaths and all of siblings of both Williams. There should be a 2 Johns, 2 Thomas' , another some James' Ferdinand or Vardy as he was called, plus mail children off all. The same piece of ground stayed in the family at least until 1850. I may a gotten divided but the land stayed in the Young family. I know that their wills were probated but where were the folks buried. The only thing I can think of is that they were buried somewhere on the Young compound on the Little River. I have checked all the cemeteries on the Trigg County Website, going though one by one. I know some got itchy feet and moved to McCracken or to TX. I a wondering about the ones that died in Trigg and had their wills probated there. Are there any "lost" cemeteries that are overgrown and no one knows where they are located? Lets brainstorm on this and see what be can come up with. Thank you Susan Young Medford OR

We have established a close connection between our McCLAINs and the DAMRONs. Both families seem to be from NC via Ky and Tn and were early settlers in Gallatin Co, IL. Both families moved to Weakley Co, TN about 1823. Charles DAMRON was the executor of Charles McCLAIN's estate in 1846. There are several marriages to McCLAIN women noted in the DAMRON books. We just can't sort out which McCLAIN families they came from. If we can make these connections we can extend you our McCLAIN line back to 1711 in MD. Can you help us? Thank you. pj Thompson pj@apex.net Weakley County, Tn & Garry Brown gsbrown4@yahoo.com Albuquerque, NM McCLAIN cousins and VERY dedicated McCLAIN researchers..........
Would like to know if the Trigg County Genealogical Society has any books for sale such as records of marriages, censuses, etc. I recently saw on this message board where another county had some for sale. Was just wondering if Trigg County has any? Thanks, Gloria
