    3. Interesting Site:::: Searchable ********** Chief Justice Stephen Limbaugh Jr. & Sec. of State Matt Blunt announced Tuesday that a database of some of Missouri's earlies legal cases now is available for browning on Blunt's Web site (http://www.sos.state.mo.us/). The site allows academics, family historians and the generally curious to trace court cases by searching for a person's name, the year a case occurred or the general subjects at issue. A search produces a brief summary -- often no longer than one sentence or phrase. And it directs searchers to the exact location where the actual court papers -- containing the rest of the details -- are kept at the Missouri State Archives in Jefferson City. "It's really going to place (Missouri's legal history) right at the punch of a button..." Blunt said. ******************* \\\|/// \\ ~ ~ // ( @ @ ) ----oOOo-(_)-oOOo----McGillekehr ********************************************************************** *****Your kygenweb homepages are***** CALDWELL http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/caldwell.html LYON http://home.hiwaay.net/~woliver/lyon.html TRIGG http://www.kyseeker.com/trigg/index.html **********************************************************************

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hBB.2ACE/649.653 Message Board Post: Kenneth, Enjoyed that write up on Mr Shadrach, most informative. I am curious if Ms Cleo Cherry Grogan is fairing OK? Havn't seen or heard from her in many years now. Her and I used to correspond, compare notes etc, trying to see if our B/B/B families tied together. We never did prove it one way or the other, although they were in the same geographic region at about the same time. My flock came into Caldwell (later Trigg), in the early 1800's with a slew of relatives, friends, etc from SC. My ggggrandfather James Luther Burd had died about 1803-4 in the Spartanburg District of SC. His widow, Margaret Harper Burd (dau of Robert Harper D.Smith County TN ca 1805-07.), along with my gggrandfather Isaac Burd, his older brother Spencer, all landed in what is now Trigg County. Later they crossed over into Calloway (later to become Marshall). Margaret would marry a second time to a Mr. Heitt or Hiett, also from SC. One of her daughters from this marriage would later marry a man by the name ! of Cheek. Spencer Burd has many descendants in that area today. There was a one William Burd/Bird also in the area at the same time, and I am sure he must have been related but have never placed him. The balance of our Burd flock went on over to Barren/Hart Counties Kentucky with William Burd the elder, father of James Luther Burd and company. Cleo used to tell me that she had come across some of Shadrach's flock that actually spelled it Burd, and that several of the Stewart County flock migrated on down to the Limestone County Alabama area. I have often suspected that the "other" William Burd/Bird/Byrd whom was in the local area (Caldwell County) at the same time was proababy a cousin to our great grandaddy Burd that went on over into Hart County. He signed for two or three daughters to get married (one to a Mr. Simpson) right close together. I suspect further that he was also the father of Jacob Burd/Bird over on Skinframe Creek whom was in Capt John C. Doods Milita Compan! y during the War of 1812. He (the other William) shows up with Capt Dodds during the initial Court meetings over in Graves County for the formation of that County. Can anyone shed any light on this or speculate in any fashion? Thanks Rudy D. Burd Cridersville Ohio.
