I have information on and still researching the Rasco (Rascoe, Roscoe) family of Trigg and Christian County Kentucky, Stewart County Tennessee 1790 to present. Primarily the descendants of Captaim William Rascoe b. ca. 1735, died in Stewart County Tn. 1806 and wife Rachel (Harrell) Rascoe died in Trigg County Ky. ca. 1826-1827. This line came out of Bertie County North Carolina. Migrated to Sumner and Robertson County Tennessee in 1794 and were in that part of Christian County that became Trigg County by 1799. James R. Rasco

Searching for POOL, POOLE in the Trigg Co Area. Especially around Cerulean Springs, KY. This would have been around 1811- forward. This family emigrated to southern MS. Any help appreciated. Alana [email protected]
Thomas L. HARDIE (HARDY) was born in 1796, the son of Rev. Thomas HARDIE and Sarah FEATHERSTONE. Rev. HARDIE died and his wife Sarah, son Thomas, and Sarah's parents moved to Smith Co. TN. Thomas L. HARDIE married and had about 10 children in Smith/Macon Co. His wife died between 1846 and 1850. The family moved to Montgomery Co. TN. about 1852. They are listed on the 1860 Montgomery Co. census They are listed on the 1870 Stewart Co census They are listed on the 1880 Trigg Co, KY census Please look at these names to see if you recognize any of these children's names: Children of Thomas L. HARDIE (HARDY) and unknown wife: 1) John A. HARDIE (HARDEY) b1824 married Martha T. ?? in Macon Co. They are in the 1860 Mont. Co census and in the 1870 Weakley co census 2) Elizabeth HARDIE b1826 3) Mary Jane HARDIE b1827 married Michael W. SHRADER in Montgomery Co, but moved to Trigg Co. KY, living near Lineport Road. 4) Thomas H. HARDIE b1830 bought his father's land in Montgomery Co. and is listed as head of the family there in 1860 (including father on the census) 5) Susan HARDIE b1832 6) Tabitha (Leathie) HARDIE b 1834 7) Malinda HARDIE b1836 8) William H. H. HARDIE b 1840 is listed as the head of the family in the 1870 census of Stewart Co (including father, age 74, in the census); he is listed as head of the family in the 1880 census of Trigg Co., KY (including father, age 84) 9) Lucy HARDIE b 1841 married ??Young WILSON?? 10) Amanda (Mandie) HARDIE b1846 married ??P. A. CASTEEL?? I cannot confirm the marriages above to be mine yet. I only know that "a" Lucy Hardy married Young Wilson in Montgomery Co in 1861. And "a" Mandie Hardy married P. A. Casteel in 1888. At least part of this family was active in the "Campbellite" movement of the area. Perhaps folks in the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, or Church of Christ will recognize these names. I welcome corrections and additions to the HARDIE family. I know there was at least one other HARDIE family in Trigg Co. We cannot find a connection between the two and maybe three families that lived in the area during the 1800s. Thanks for reading this. Hope you recognize something and can help me. Ida Deal

I am researching the surnames: Lander & Hudson The help I need is on orphans. Does anyone know where I would write or call about a record of guardianship or indenture of an orphan who lost his last parent in Abt. 1820. He was only 7 years old. Family lore says that Atha Gregory Hudson lost his last parent (mother) at the age of 7 and became an indentured harness maker. Atha Hudson and Catherine Lander are in the 1850 Trigg County, KY census. Here is his bio: History of Hickory, Polk, Cedar, Dade and Barton Counties, Missouri The Goodspeed Publishing Co. 1889, p. 657 Atha Gregory Hudson, a harness manufacturer, is a Virginian born in Halifax County, November 25, 1813, and is a son of Daniel and Sallie Hudson, but was left an orphan when about seven years of age, and was reared in Kentucky. When about fourteen years of age he began learning the harness-maker's trade in Hopkinsville, Ky., and, after becoming thoroughly acquainted with the details of the business, worked in that State for a number of years. In October, 1851, he came to Cedar County, Mo., where he made his home until 1877, when he located in Humansville. During the war he worked in Sedalia, Mo. He was married in Kentucky in 1835 to Miss Catherine Ann Elizabeth Shipp Lander, a daughter of Henry Lander, and grand-daughter of Maj. Brassfield, of Clark County, Ky. They have two sons and two daughters living: Charles William, a farmer, of Vernon County, Mo., a substantial citizen of the county, and a soldier in the late war. John, the other son; Ophelia Kate, wife of Cicero Warner; and Mollie, wife of E. P. White, a railroad contractor of New Orleans, La. Mr. and Mrs. Hudson have been members of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, from youth.

Thank you for a quick response. My mother's maiden name was Mable Marie Nanney. She was born 8 Oct 1909 in Benton, Trigg County, KY. She was the daughter of Louis Clay Nanney and Bessie Helen Moore. Louis was the youngest of eight children born to Philip Jordan Nanney and Mary Emily Smith. I have quite a bit of information about them but am always looking for the unknown items which can add so much to the family archives. Several months ago I was in the Paducah area and located the Little Cypress Missionary Baptist Church which my mother's maternal grandfather, Armstead Moore, had pastored almost a hundred years ago. Also located the stall in the old farmer's market in downtown Paducah where the Nanney brothers made their living as butchers. Perhaps you might have some knowledge of this branch of the family? -----Original Message----- From: Robert Hale <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Tuesday, January 04, 2000 8:18 PM Subject: Re: [KYTRIGG] KYTRIGG Roll Call >Please email me privately regarding your NANNEY line..... >[email protected] >Thanks.....Kay Hale > >-----Original Message----- >From: Bev Cooke <[email protected]> >To: [email protected] <[email protected]> >Date: Tuesday, January 04, 2000 6:59 PM >Subject: [KYTRIGG] KYTRIGG Roll Call > > >>Searching NANNEY, MOORE, and BURNHAM families in and around Benton and >Cadiz areas circa 1850-1920. >> >> >>==== KYTRIGG Mailing List ==== >>This KYTRIGG list is currently available for adoption! >>Interested in becoming the list manager?
