Hello List and Alma There is a Milton Low age 28 on the 1880 census-source Trigg County Handbook page 220 >From Tennessee with the following wife and children: Betty 23 wife, Addie 8, Mary B 3, Martha A 3/12 On the 1900 Trigg County census by Thomas Jones and Barbara Smith-page 88 Milton Low-49-Oct. 1850---Tennessee James son -14-Jan. 1886 Charley son-12-Apr. 1888 Could this be your Milton Lowe ?? Bud I don't have alot of inf. My records show that James Milton "Doc" Lowe was married to Cynthia Ann McWaters (daughter of Samuel and Jane Mcwaters) She was born about 1854 and died after 1910. Was married to James Milton about 1890 in KY. She was his third wife. His first wife was Minnie McWaters, sister of Cynthia. Milton Lowe and Minnie McWaters had three children: Elroy, John P. and Glenn. Milton Lowe and Cynthia McWaters had one child (that I know of) : John Robert Lowe (born 11-30-1891 in Golden Pond, Ky and died 11-25-1956 in Paducah, Ky. Buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah) Lou Taylor (daughter of Hart Taylor and Cynthia McWaters) married Jim Kilgore. They are both buried at Dickerson Cemetery in Lyon Children. They had two daughters: Hallie and Della who married brothers. Hallie Kilgore married Isaac McQuithey, and Della married Milton McQuithey. Isaac and Milton were my uncles. My lines comes down from the Lowe (so I am told). However, I have not been able to find much on the Lowes past James Milton. I would really love to find inf. as to who James Milton's parents were. James Milton was suppose to have a sister, who was married to a McQuithey. The McQuithey would have been my great grandparents. I am finding it very hard to find ANY inf. on the McQuitheys past my grandfather. Have not been able to find who his parents were. The Lowe brothers (James Milton called Doc, Robert, Isaac and Williams were my grandfather's uncles) But past them, I have been unable to find any thing. So if someone finds further inf. on the Lowes, please - would you pass it on to me. James Milton Lowe was also married to Minnie McWaters (1st wife) which was a sister to Cynthia. Dear Bud: My goodness you have been busy. Last question first: Mary J. McWaters is listed on page 169 of the TCHB in the 1850 census as the 21 year old wife of John B. McWaters, 27 year old farmer. Their children are John J., and Samuel G. McWaters, with Robert Kenady, Sarah Kenady and James H. Kenady living in their household. Living next to them is Wm McWaters, Miller, age 51 and his wife Marilla, age 38 and their children, and on the other side would be Samuel McWaters, 23 year old farmer, with his ?wife?, Eliza M., age 16. (Mary J. is listed again on page 219 as the 27 year old wife of J. J. McWaters, age 34 in the 1180 census of Bethesda District.) The 1880 Census of Golden Pond lists on page 239, Moses McWaters, 33, farmer; wife Sarah E., age 28, daughter Mary J., daughter Judah, and daughter Margaret. Also on this page is Harrison McWaters, age 26 working in a saloon. I still don't know who Marilla's parents are! Hello Barb: I show John W. Dunnaway married to Marilla (Manilla) McWaters on 26 January 1839. (Trigg County Handbook.) The children listed for them are: Mary A., John and Susan. John must have died because she married William McWaters 10 April 1850, (Trigg County Handbook) and I have their son Harrison born in 1854. As you can tell, my records are far from complete, and I would welcome any additions or corrections from those can help. Does this help you any or make it worse?
