Ferguson Spring Cemetery has Lane, James "no stone" and Lane, Martha Ross "no stone". Martha Ross married James Ahart, Trigg County Handbook 1880 census--page 230 and marriage record in Trigg County Handbook--page 345. James and Martha Ahart's daughter, Minnie married William G Lane. I can not find a record of James Lane marrying Martha Ross, My question is: Is this a error. Is this supposed to be James and Martha (Ross) Ahart buried in the Ferguson Spring Cemetery? Bud
Bud, I had the same question. I simply do not know other than Martha Ross is burried by James and Pres Lane says she was married to James. Hi, I was glad to hear from you. I am afraid at this point I know very little about William Johnson Walker other he was married twice and who his known children were. I wished I could help, but at this time I can't. Wayne
Wayne, I can't help you with William Johnson Walker's parents, but am also searching for the parents of a Walker from that general area. I'm searching for the parents of John Barber Walker, born about 1832, probably in adjoining Christian County. Not positive of his place of birth and might be in Trigg or Todd or Hopkins County. He married Mary Ann Wicks on 29 Dec 1857 in Hopkins Co, KY. They had two daughters, Mary Elizabeth, born 1859 and Martha Olive, born in 1861, both in in Hopkins Co. John died in 1865 while in service during the Civil War. Do any of these names sound familiar and maybe connect to your William Walker? I noticed Nov. 2000 posting on the Bledsoe Message Board at Ancestry.com regarding Elijah Powell Monroe Bledsoe. It was stated he married Thursia Ann Curry (Carraway) and they had 4 children: John T., Eliza, Wyatt Hoffman. In a September posting it was stated that the family moved to Fayette Co. IL after Elijah was killed in Trigg County Kentucky. Have you gleaned any additional information for your research? The reason I ask is my brother & I have been researching our Bledsoe branch and we may be connect ! Our Bledsoe's are in Illinois and we trace back to Loogootee, Fayette Co. Illinois. Beyond that we get stumped. Our Great-grandfather was Hoffman Bledsoe born October 30, 1850 and d. BEF 1878. He married Samantha Beal September 9, 1873. They had a son Charles Ellsworth Bledsoe b. June 29, 1874. After Hoffman's death Samantha married Hoff's twin brother Wyatt on January 3, 1878. They had 4 children: James Lemuel "Klondike", William Elmer "Guinn", Estella, and Mary "Maude".All were born in Loogootee, Fayette Co. Illinois. Wyatt and Hoffman had a sister, name unknown, referred to as Mrs. Howe in Wyatt's obituary and a brother John T. I do not have a solid lead any further back than Wyatt & Hoffman. Most of this information came from family oral history and Wyatt's obituary. If you have anything that will help me connect my family I would be very appreciative. I have information that I can send on the family coming down from Hoffman, Wyatt, and Samantha. I will anxiously anticipate your response Effie Bledsoe Hannon Lewisville, Texas

For weeks I have been busy working a new site and now........ I am very proud to announce a new addition to the KySeeker website entitled "Between The Rivers". This portion of the KySeeker site is designed to preserve the history and heritage of the land that was once home to many people displaced by TVA. It contains over 250 pages of data from Lyon Co., KY; Trigg Co., KY, and Stewart Co., TN, including cemetery records, community information, obituaries, as well as info on various schools and churches from all 3 counties. This site was designed to compliment the present USGenweb pages for all 3 counties. http://www.kyseeker.com/btr/ Julie Gibbs

Thanks for the info on the city or town of Empire. I do hope that I can find out why Lorenzo Dow Ferguson moved his family there from Tennessee. I know of no connection with family at this time, however, one lady is checking into her Ferguson line for me. I wonder if anyone has any info on the Steamboats or tug boats out of this area. I had no idea that it was at the Land B.' the Lakes. My gggreat grandfather was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Paducah Lodge 127, and that was 1907 then he transferred his membership to Alabama 1913. Anyone have any insight in getting the orgininal application for membership to the Lodge. No one will or doesn't have time to look for me at the Lodge itself. C.J. Williams

I do have the 1850 info but thanks just the same. I will look into the Morris line you are from to see if there is any connection. Odd that the Atwood line in smith Co. has Walker as a middle name. Wonder if there is a connection? Will keep searching! Mimi
