I wish I could find someone who could tell me how to get information from the Kentucky court. My ancestor Newit Pitman married Frances Sherrod 27 June 1832 in Todd County, Ky. They had a daughter Eunity b 2 May 1836. I do not know what happened to Frances Sherrod, if she died or they divorced and she remarried? Newit married Frances Gorrell, dtr. of James Gorrell and Nancy Boley who lived in Sharon Grove, 20 Dec 1841. Newit, his father James, brother-in-law William Gorrell, and probably others left Todd County to obtain land in Missouri. Missouri land records show that Newit purchased land in Pettis County, Missouri, in 1843. Newit's father James Pitman died in Pettis County, Missouri, in 1841. Newit took his mother back to Kentucky and I have been told by a Kentucky researcher that the Gorrell father-in-law took him to court for support of his family while he was gone to Missouri. I have written several times to Kentucky and have been unable to access these records. I do not have an actual court date, just the above dates of happenings. Do you know where I could write to get this information? My great grandmother, Nancy Elizabeth Pitman, was born in Todd County in 1842. Her sister Mary Martha was born 8 Apr 1844 in Todd County. Son George T. was born in Todd County in 1845 and daughter Caroline was born in 1848. The family is still in Kentucky in the 1850 census and in that census a 17-year-old David F. Gorrell is listed in their household. I call this my "two Fanny mystery" and would be grateful to anyone who could offer suggestions. Joy
