The 1850 census record shows a 14-year old James, when mine would have been 11, but other than that, it seems to fit. However, regardless of whether my James fits this family, this Adams family is closely related to my (either by blood or proximity). Jasper Newton's son Edward married Ambie Camp, who is the granddaughter of James and Sarah through their daughter Ida. Also, one of Jasper's kids is Porter (another of James' daughters married John T. Porter) and another has a middle name Josephine, as did one of James' girls, which doesn't seem real common otherwise. Anyone who can shed light on this, it's much appreciated. Hope this helps, Amelia
