Cindy, My Grandmother was a sister to Eldred (Tobe) Carneal. He is buried at Carneal cem. in Clifty. My grandmother's name is Annie McGehee. She is buried just up the road a short distance at the Slaughter cem. Benjamin Franklin Carneal was married to Mary Jane Groves. She was a mid-wife I am told by my mother. Their Children were Ella, Annie,Lou, Susan, Tobe, Josie, Mark, Frankie, and Fannie. I would like to know more than this about them myself. Good luck to you and please keep me posted if you find out anything. I would like to know who Benjamin F. Carneal's parents were.
Samuel Gordon was born 1761 in Cecil County, Maryland and died 1840 in Todd County, Kentucky. He was Married three times, to Elizabeth Brannon, Christina, and Lucretia Hadley. His children were Joseph, John, Christopher, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, Nancy, and George. I have been searching for his parents for years. Any information would be tremendously appreciated. I would love to correspond with anyone descended from Samuel.

Teachers were: Miss Maud Wright Miss Bessie Boyd Miss Jennie Mullens Any idea when the picture would have been taken? Or the age of the postcard? In the little square that says "Place Postage Here" it says........"Domestic, Possesions Canadian Mexican 1 c Foreign 2 c" The name H. A. Hamill, Guthrie, KY is printed on the side of the postcard. I have a postcard sized picture of a little boy. On the back it is marked "Little George Raymond Burrus , Fairview, KY, July (?)th 1920" I believe he was born 17 Sept. 1917 and died 4 March 1992. I would like very much to be able to send this to his family. Janet Keeling Daily
What did the B. F. stand for? Thanks, Fred Burress
Posted to the state list today, this will be a great resource for Todd researchers! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Christian County KyGenWeb has a new page dedicated to Western State Hospital / Western Lunatic Asylum. WSH was the holding facility for most counties in Western Ky. The pages contain newspaper abstracts about lunacy hearings, committals, and obituaries from about 1885 through 1920+ from various counties in the region. http://www.kyseeker.com/christian/wsh Julie Gibbs Christian Co. I am looking for information on John Street. He was married to Agness Mims in Virginia in 1801. They moved to Todd County in 1810. I can't find any info on them. I'm hitting the proverbial brick wall. I know that two of their daughters married Rutherfords, and one married a Waggoner. Can any one help me? Regards Joe Street
My Willis line came from NC to KY and they spread out into Virginia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Iowa, Indiana, Missouri, etc. My ggrandfather was William STERLING WILLIS, a Methodist preacher that 'road the circuit' to preach. He married first an Elizabeth Huffman in 1855 in Garrard Co., KY and they had at least two children and he then married a Creek Indian squaw that he 'met, took, ???' from a reservation supposedly around Bristol, VA around 1865 after returning from the Civil War and they had several children. There was a Methodist preacher from every generation of the Willis' all the way back to 1000 in England and possibly even farther back - there are several Willis' preachers buried in the Church yards in England. Sound familiar??? Please contact me directly at: unikorn@chartertn.net Sharon Willis Robinson

The list seems to slow down every summer vacation season. Should pick back up about the time school starts again. In the mean time, Laura and I have started a new project. The Logan/Todd Obituary Database is now online and operational. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ky/county/todd/obit/ We have about 200 online already and at least 100 more to type up and get added. If anyone has obits they would like to submit there is a form online. I don't have a search engine set up yet but you can browse by year. I am trying to locate information of my great-great-grandfather, James H. Weir, who was born in Todd County on May 31, 1818. He married Mildred J. Thomson on September 6, 1848. If you have any information or leads, please contact me. Susan Weir
I have been in contact with other family members of the Malone family that have helped me unravel a George Washington Latham puzzle. There were 2 GW born very close in age from Todd Co. Ky who later moved to Illinois. The GW in your bible appears to me to be the son of Andrew Jackson Latham and Levina C. McElvain. James Harvey Latham and Susan Driskill's son George Washington was born on July 5, 1845 and died Jul .3 1, 1922 in McLeansboro, Hamilton Co. Il., mar Jan 1866 Hamilton Co.
