Can anyone out there help me with Asa W. Jessup (1806 or 1811 - 1866)? I descend from his son, John Joseph Jessup. John Joseph Jessup married Elizabeth Susan Chappell 23 Nov 1863 in Todd Co., KY. Elizabeth is the daughter of Williamson Chappell and Patience Blake. Williamson is my other brick wall. If anyone can help with either of these, I would be delighted to hear from you. Deb: They don't appear in the AIS Census Indices for Todd County, 1870. There are 3 households, John, Henry and Martha Brewer, and John and Henry Brewer don't match the family profile as I see it in the 1880 census. In the 1880 census, Jessee's mother 's birthplace is recorded as NC. His father was born in one of the Carolinas, but the first letter is too faint for me to read reliably. The LDS has Jessee's father born NC. Hello Listers, Some time ago I got some information from Linda Clark on the COPE family. I was away all winter enjoying southern CA weather. She wrote that Susan Thurstin Cope & Harriet Elizabeth Cope were sisters. Children of Andrew Cope & Millie Pace. I went to check this into my data base yesterday. I have a Millie Pace born ca 1804 married to David Cope in Todd Co. with children Martin, Robert T., Andrew & Reuben. Is there another Millie Pace? I'm sure Linda answered from this list. I need clarification. Nina Williams
Is "Clark" Virginia's maiden name or married name? This is in response to Jo Pace who is researching Virginia T. Clark. I have been searching for my grandfather Charles Hickman Clark and was wondering if he could be the son of Virginia & Charles Clark. He lived in Stewart County, Tenn. and also Montgomery County, Tenn. before coming to Guthrie, Todd County, Ky where he died in June of 1958. According to a 1910 census he was born in 1876, but I'm not sure where. The dates of death for Virginia & Charles indicate it could be possible that they were his parents. As for Whites Chapel, I'm not sure where that is but I have lots of relatives in Todd County so I will try to find out for you. Dianna
