    1. [KYTODD-L] I want to purchase Todd co microfilm
    2. C.R.Simmons
    3. Hello, Since I live in Chicago and do not see a road trip any time soon, I was wondering if there was a way to buy Todd county records on microfilm, especially old newspapers? If this is possible where would I go to buy film. I know about census films from the National Archives. Any other resources? Thanks Cristal

    3. Hi Cathy, The 1820 and 1830 Todd Census has no listings for McIntosh, so you may need to try Christian or Logan for those years. 1840 has the following: McIntosh, J. G. 1 male age 0-5, 1 male age 30-40, 1 male age 60-70, a female age 10-15, 1 female age 30-40 McIntosh, Talbott, 1 male age 0-5, 1 male age 30-40, 1 female age 5-10, 1 female age 10-15, 1 female age 30-40 Good Hunting, Karen [email protected] wrote: > Karen, > Thanks for offering to check on my McIntosh's. 3. Hi Cathy, Welcome aboard! Todd County was created in December 1819 from parts of Logan and Christian Counties, so you may need to find some of your oldest records in those counties. Most of your surnames look pretty familar though. I'll see if I can come up with something on the McINTOSH's at the library for you. 2. C.R.Simmons
    3. Hello, I am Cristal SImmons living in Chicago. My great-grandfather Charles Kennedy Jr. was born In Elkton around 1898. His parents were Charles Kennedy Sr. and Martha Ella McCoy Kennedy. Charles Sr's parents were Minor and Fannie Kennedy. Martha was the daughter of Underwood and Millie Jackson McCoy. So I am researching the Kennedy, McCoy families in Todd County. Since I am black my ancestors are too. :) The Kennedy's were slaves and the McCoys were free people of color. I am VERY interested in the free people of color who lived in Todd and Logan counties and am researching another family of free black Bristows. They were freed in Clark County by John Bristow who sent them to live in Todd Co with his family there, the prominent Bristows of that area. It is very difficult researching African Americans especially enslaved ones. I appreciate the possibility of talking with people who, like myself have been researching this county for a long time and those who are new to Todd Co research. One of the things about researching black folks is that I have to collect information on a lot of white families. Just wanted to introduce myself. Looking forward to sharing info! Cristal Simmons

    3. West Dandridge Hurt and wife Lucy Shelton went to Christian County from Pittsylvania County, VA with their children 1805 or 1806. Do you find mention of them in your book? Children were Thomas W. who later went to Todd County and then to Calloway Co., Leticia, who ended up in Marshall County, Susannah, Abraham, Ely, Hope and Lewis, who was born in Christian County.
