Dear "gcarter", The parents of Thomas W. Heady were Thomas Heady and Susannah Cotton. Thomas was born 18 July 1780 in Pennsylvania. He came to Nelson County, KY in 1790 with his parents and siblings. On 9 February 1801 in Nelson County he married Susannah Cotton. She had been born in 1783 in Virginia. Thomas died 25 February 1852 in Nelson County, KY, Susannah died there after 1860. They had 13 children. Thomas W. Heady was their 9th child, and he was born in 1819 as you know already. Thomas Heady (1780-1852) was the eldest child of James Heady (1759-1837) and Eleanor "Nellie" Jackson. James was born in Fayette County, PA, where he married Nellie in 1779. Both James and Nellie died in Nelson county, KY. James Heady was the 6th child of Thomas Heady (1725?-1804). On 24 June 1749 in Monmouth County, NJ Thomas Heady married Rebecca Stillwell, "widdow of Egg Harbour, [NJ]". It is not known for sure whether STILLWELL was Rebecca's maiden name of the surname of her first husband. Thomas Heady and Rebecca Stillwell lived first in NJ, then in southwestern PA, and finally in Nelson County, KY, where they settled in 1790.
