Hello again, We have a new query system for the KYGenWeb pages. New Spencer County queries are now located at their permanent home, located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgwqury/ky/spencer/index.cgi For the time being queries will no longer be added to the current page maintained by CCHelper program. Pam and Patty are working on a way to make the new system and CCHelper compatiable, but it is not ready just yet. I will let you know as soon as all the details have been worked out. So for now if you would like to see your query on the new page, go to the above address and enter it in the new system. PLEASE adhere to the following guidelines. 1.Your query must have a Spencer County connection. 2. Enter your query information exactly as you want it to appear. 3. Your query should be short and specific. However don't be stingy with your information, tell the reader what you do know and what you want to know. Please Note... As the manager of the query page I reserve the right to edit and reformat your query as I feel necessary or delete the query if it is not appropriate for this page. Dear "gcarter", The parents of Thomas W. Heady were Thomas Heady and Susannah Cotton. Thomas was born 18 July 1780 in Pennsylvania. He came to Nelson County, KY in 1790 with his parents and siblings. On 9 February 1801 in Nelson County he married Susannah Cotton. She had been born in 1783 in Virginia. Thomas died 25 February 1852 in Nelson County, KY, Susannah died there after 1860. They had 13 children. Thomas W. Heady was their 9th child, and he was born in 1819 as you know already. Thomas Heady (1780-1852) was the eldest child of James Heady (1759-1837) and Eleanor "Nellie" Jackson. James was born in Fayette County, PA, where he married Nellie in 1779. Both James and Nellie died in Nelson county, KY. James Heady was the 6th child of Thomas Heady (1725?-1804). On 24 June 1749 in Monmouth County, NJ Thomas Heady married Rebecca Stillwell, "widdow of Egg Harbour, [NJ]". It is not known for sure whether STILLWELL was Rebecca's maiden name of the surname of her first husband. Thomas Heady and Rebecca Stillwell lived first in NJ, then in southwestern PA, and finally in Nelson County, KY, where they settled in 1790. Hi, Im trying to find where my 3rd great grandfather Joseph Walker and his wife Agnes Nancy Clark Walker are buried . They owned more than 700 acres of land in the Waterford area along Plum Creek. On one of the deeds of his Uncle Gideon Walker it mentions a cemetary for the Walker family. This is on property that Gideon sold to Preston Beauchamp in 1826. I have no idea who owns the land now. Joseph Walker b.ca 1790 died in 1872, Nancy died in 1855, they were well todo for their time so seems there should be some kind of stones for them somewhere in that county. I know his son Presley Walker is buried in Plum Creek Baptist church along with other Walkers but no stone for either Joseph or Nancy is there. I also cant find Joseph mentioned in the early church records. His grandson Joseph Walker is mentioned in later yrs. Any info about this family will be greatly appreciated. thanks, Joan in Tn
I'm trying to track down the family of Harriet SMITH. She was born sometime between 1813-1819 in Spencer County. She married a man named McCROCKLIN in 1835 and was widowed or divorced. Harriet Smith McCrocklin married my ancestor Joseph O. POPE on October 24, 1845. He was a widower with several kids, including John Smith POPE and was much older than Harriet. At about this time the family moved to Daviess County, KY, living in Whitesville, just outside of Owensburg. Joseph POPE died in 1860, the year my great-grandfather, Isaac Pope was born to the couple. Harriet Smith McCrocklin Pope died on Feburary 28, 1885.

John and Delila are buried at the Adel Cemetery in Owen Co., IN., along with Delila's brothers Josiah and James Vandeventer, and John and Delila's daughter Elizabeth BRYAN. James and Nancy VANDEVENTER are buried at the BUSKIRK - LIGHT- McINTOSH cemetery in Greene Co., IN, and are my 3rd great grandparents, and Delila and John are also my 3rd great grandparents, while James K. is my 2nd great grandfather. James and Nancy are in Greene Co., IN by 1850, have not yet located where John and Delila are in 1850, but by 1860 they are in Owen Co., IN. Also, I believe John may have been married before as oldest daughter is born before his marriage to Delila. The BUSKIRK family also lived in the Spencer and Shelby Co., area of KY are related to this family of Vandeventers. Thanks for any help, have extensive information on the descendants of these people, willing to share. Sue Buskirk Wilcox
