For over 90 years many have tried in our family to find a birth record/death record on Nicholas/Nicolas Cassetty. Did he have another name besides Nicholas/Nicolas. His Grandson is the one that gave his name to us and that he only new him as Nicholas or Nicolas. We have he was married to Susan Jenkins and they had two children. We cannot find a marriage record. In Cal's Column it says she was married to Alex Cassetty. Could Nicholas been Nicholas Alexander or Alexander Nicholas. I am again posting this to try and break the brick wall that has so been unbreakable. If any one has any kind of information please forward it. Someone said he might have been born in a part of Virginia that became West Virginia and that was a part of Augusta County at one time. His parents Thomas and Sarah Thomas Cassetty. Thomas born 1762 in Augusta County, VA. This was a big county at that time. Thomas married Sarah in Franklin County VA in abt 1796 per information I have. We know from pension records that Thomas father was Thomas Cassetty. We think Nicholas died about 1825 to 1830. thanks for any help or info again -- Jeannie God Bless God Speed

    1. [KYSIMPSO] Middleton, Simpson, KY Fire Baby Dies
    2. Jeannie Gregory via
    3. sometime between 11/1911 and 04/1912 on of twin babies died in a fire in Middleton, Simpson, KY. Parents Miles Pierce and Oshie Climer Soyars. I do know the survivor was a girl. She was called Buleana/Brulin Rose Soyars. They lived in a house that had a walk through between the bedroom and the kitchen. Grand aunt Oshie was feeding the girl that lived in the kitchen and Grand Uncle Miles went into the bedroom and stoked the fire in the fireplace. After he left the bedroom caught on fire and the child asleep in there died. I am looking for information on this fire. My grandfather talked of the fire. So did my mother and her siblings and severl of my older cousins. Is there any record of the twins birth or the fire and the one twin death. All I have is the family stories. Grand Aunt Oshie was my grandmothers sister. My grandmother was Callie Beatrice Climer Cassity. Wife of my grandfather Bailey Peyton Cassity. Callie died 03/06/1928. I have found some notes refering to the girl as Barbara Rose Soyars. I have been able to trace Buleana/Brulin/Barbara Rose Soyars to the 1930 census in Wayne County, MI. after that I am not able to find her. She was living with Ambrose and Mary Rose Soyars Price. Ambrose and Mary are from Logan County, KY. Again. My brick wall is the twin died, any records of the fire and also what happened the girl twin after 1930. Been working on this long before computers. thank you Jeannie Magnolia Hertiage Genealogy -

    3. Miles Pierce and Oshie Climer Soyars had twins. I know for sure one was a girl. Oshie was in the kitchen feeding the girl. The other was asleep in the bedroom. Miles came in and stoked up the fire in the room and left. The room caught on fire and the one twin baby died. The house had the bedroom on one side with a walk through and the kitchen across from it. It was in Middleton, Simpson, KY. This was told to me by my Grandpa. He was married to Callie Climer and she was Oshie's sister. My mother and her sisters talked about it and so have many cousins. Does anyone have any information on this. I would apreciate the help very much. This is one of my brick walls. Thank You very Much. Jeannie -- Jeannie God Bless God Speed kymonroe@rootsweb.com ancestraltrackers.org
