Mary, Thanks for the info. It doesn't look like your line connects to mine. You have a John listed amoung the children but it said he was 8 yrs of age at 1850. Mine was born in 1850 So I don't think it's the same family. I think the name was misspelled on the census as Sommers. I don't think it was spelled that way since Ella Summers's social Application has it as Summers. It said on the application that John Summers married a Jakie Heddew. But I haven't come across that many Heddews. I know of many Hedden's and think that maybe that is the way you spell her last name. Has nayone heard of Heddew's in Shelby County???
