    2. Hi Janet, I am very interested in Smallwoods in Shelby County in those early years. Randolph, William, and Samuel Smallwood lived near my gggg-gf, Thomas Tucker, according to the 1810 census. Thomas lived in the Elk Creek area of ShelbyCounty, which later became Spencer. He was born in Maryland, and allegedly was married to Mary Catherine Smallwood, then Elizabeth Smallwood. His oldest son's name is Hezekiah, which certainly supports the Smallwood theory. I have long wondered if Thomas Tucker and the Shelby Smallwoods travelled to KY together. I have some information that Thomas was in Culpeper VA in 1800, though I have not yet confirmed that. Would love to talk further!
