Hi Elizabeth: We have corresponded before and discussed your book. I was very happy to receive the information about William Sarvis--some I had but some was new to me. I accessed your web site and enjoyed the family history, etc. As I wrote before, I am descended through Henry Madison Sarvis who I seem to have lost track of. I know he married twice in Montgomery County, IN--once to Mary Carman and 2d to May Preston. His children were by his 2d wife. He was in Dade County, MO in 1850 but I have been unable to find him since then. His two oldest children stayed in Dade county, but the others, Madison, Lucinda, Amerca & Catherine (twins) and Henry evidentally moved with their father. His daughter Lucinda was married to Henry White in Coucil Bluffs, Iowa in 1861 so I am going to see if the family lived there according to the 1860 census. He may have gone to Manhaska County, Iowa, with his siblings. I also will see if I can get a copy of the 1790 Stafford County, VA census and see if there is a Sarvis listed on it. There is a Family History Center of the LDS church here in Colorado Springs and they are very helpful. Again, thank you for the information, and if I get anything additional, I will certainly share it with you. I have found several Sarvis "cousins" since I started this project. Don't know if you have contact with them or not. They are Virginia Servies, Ruth Gaboury, Karen Zach, Warren White, Carol Servies, Linda Sarvis, Chuck Mallette. If you would like any of their email addresses, I will be glad to send them. Warren White has a picture of an old gentleman with long hair and a beard--he looks to be really light complexed with blue eyes. I thought it might be William Sarvis--he looks to be of a different generation than Henry Madison would be. Do you have any pictures of the Sarvis clan? Thanks again for all your help. Take care, and keep in touch. Trudy
