Kathy, From what I can gather, there was a series of "Goodspeed" type biographies published in the late 1800's by Perrin, Battle, & Kniffin that covered much of the state in various volumes. Some of these are available in reprint but, as far as my book dealer knows, not the one covering Shelby Co. If anyone knows any differently please let me know - these things are really good sources..
