I'll give the entry and then the page number.: ANDREW HOLMES Fall, 1788 - listed on muster roll of first uniformed militia company west of the Allegheny Mts (Lexington Light Infantry) (p.59) March 5, 1789 - KY Gazette - James Bray, Lexington's first tavern keeper, announces he has retired and ".. will all those who owe him please settle with Mr. Andrew Holmes." (p.61) March 6, 1790 - KY Gazette - Andrew Holmes & Co. advertise a general assortment of merchandise ".. suitable to the present and approaching season, which will be sold for cash or country produce. A few firkins of butter are wanted." (p.65) November 16, 1790 - KY Gazette - Wm. Leavy advised that he was acting agent for Andrew Holmes & Co. and would buy steers, lard, and fat horses. (p.68) 1797 - Tax books contained for the first time a list of the merchants with stores, doing business in the Town of Lexington: among those listed was Andrew Holmes (p.132) March 20, 1797 - KY Gazette - Andrew Holmes advertises that the firm of Charles Humphrey & Co. ".. is being dissolved and will all those who owe the firm please call and settle at once." (p.136) May 1, 1797 - Minutes book of the town trustees - The board resolved that "On account of the town branch having overflowed several times, Andrew Holmes is directed to straighten the "canal" on Water street, from where it ends to John Cocke's water mill, and to build a bridge across same at Lower Street." (p.315) September 29, 1797 - KY Gazette - A.E. Saugrain advertises shot of different sizes, .. made by him in Lexington and sold by Andrew Holmes, at his store at corner of Main & Mill streets." (p.138) September 5, 1799 - KY Gazette - Andrew Holmes advertises for ".. hops to be delivered at his brewery on Mulberry street." (p.154) 1801 - In election of town trustees, Andrew Holmes received 25 votes. December 13, 1803 - KY Gazette - Mr. Andrew Holmes, merchant, died, and the trustees attended the funereal service. Ref.
