    3. You should recontact the clerk's office there, and see what happened. I've gone there in person, and these folks are VERY accommodating. They also have a retired former employee who has done research for them from time to time, and she is very thorough. I am hoping that some on you on the list has had some experience with the county clerks in Shelby county. Over 2 months ago, I sent in a request for copies of the will, appraisal and final settlement for the wills of Henry Pollard, and in a seperate letter, requested the same for his wife Rachel. I gave the date of both wills and included a $10 check in each request, with the statement that if it ran more than that to please let me know and I would send more. As of this date, I have received no word from them, and my checks have not been cashed. Can anyone out there tell me a little about the clerks there. Have my letters simply been thrown in the trash can, or do they honor the requests? I also stated that I had no problem with my letter being turned over to a local researcher if their office was swamped. Can anyone out there help me? I would really like to get copies of this information, and can't travel because I provide the physical care for my 6 year old disabled granddaughter. A stop check fee at my bank is $15 apiece, hardly viable for 2 $10 checks; but I hate to have to carry them for the next six months or so without knowing it they will EVER hit my bank. Kathy Bowlin
