The 1860 census of Brown Township enumerated a man of this age, living with Edmund and Lucinda Speaks Jean, who was born in Maryland, but not until about 1785. He was later declared a pauper and became a ward of the county on December 12, 1861. A person of this name was married in Harrison County, Indiana to Jane Boston on May 29, 1816."
