    1. Re: [KYSHELBY] Need help
    2. I'm not from Shelbyville,KY, but my ancestors were. They owned a house on Bradshaw Street. Clear Creek ran behind the house, about parallel to the street. An overhead railroad track also ran between the house and Clear Creek. I'm sorry that I can't give you any better directions than that, but I'm sure someone who is more familiar with Shelbyville will respond.

    2. Hello Bev, how are you? I am not kin to the people, that is weird you are! I'm looking for anyone in Germantown thru 1850's thru early 1900's to connect my "Meschendorf" German name! I was looking at the Blakenbaker and had a print out with the names right in front of me when the ladys message came in, but that was not her line! I don't think I put I was kin to them!! No telling how many times we are actually kin to each other! Ha! If you see the very un-normal name of Meschendorf, holler at me thats my mother's German grandparents name! Good to hear from you! Cecie

    2. G. Harris
    3. OK, could you post this for me? I am looking for any info on Jonathan & Mary (Brooks) Harris of Shelby Co. These folks show up on the 1880 & 1900 census & will most likely be on the 1910 & 1920 Censuses when I look. John is listed with a KY birthplace, Mary as New York. I know John was still alive in 1926 as he signed off on Mary's death certificate but as of yet haven't been able to find his death in the KY Vital Stats. Any help on this Harris line would be appreciated as I am trying to get info on his parents, etc., and especially his siblings. 3. Yes, the library in town has microfilms of most of the old newspapers - some of the earlier years are missing but on the whole its pretty complete - certainly should have the years you're interested in. I suggest you contact the Shelby Co. web page manager and ask if she knows of anyone there who can do lookups for you. You have the date of Wm's death so the obit, if there is one, shouldn't be too hard to locate. That should also give some good info on survivors, etc. Good luck George ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marilyn Talbot" <talbot@olsusa.com> To: <KYSHELBY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 08, 2000 8:11 AM Subject: Re: [KYSHELBY] BACON-BIRD > George, > Is there a Shelby County Library that keeps newspaper obituaries on file?
