    3. Hi everyone! Sorry to start another thread of messages so close to a Surname Shout Out but with the lists being down the first part of the year it threw my scheduling off. Hope you don't mind... With this being the Memorial Day Weekend, I thought it would it be interesting to post one ancestor we have in our family trees who served in one of the many wars and battles we fought in US History. Obviously it has to be an ancestor from this county. :) Give a brief biography of that person including the unit and war he or she was in, a POW, injuries, plus the usual genealogical stuff. Thanks in advance and have a safe weekend! Rick B Admin

    3. Thank you for responding. What I'm looking for is the lineage behind a Mary (Kinman) Chipman who resided in Scott County at some point. Her husband, James Chipman was born in 1815 in Scott County. Mary Chipman's parents were Samuel Kinman born in North Carolina (died in Kentucky) and Talathecum/Talathacum/Telitha/Talitha (Henry) Kinman was born in Virginia. I can't find where she died, but I suspect it was Kentucky as well. The reason why I'm asking about these people is because in the archives for this list, way back in 1999, someone mentioned Talathecum Henry's lineage, and I was hoping someone out there would know more about them. Talathecum's parents were William Henry and Mary Brooks both born in about 1765 in Virginia. 3. When I go into Ancestry.com and add only Henry and Scott County, Kentucky, I get a list of men and women with the last name Henry. Most have "T" as a middle initial. More info about him might help determine the correct one. Mr. W. T. Henry was the Great Crossing school Principal for the years I attended. There is a Mr. Kinman in the Covington area and we were trying to find Nancy Shackleford. He is now deceased and Nancy has been found. Hope this helps. 3. Nancy, My book says the Wash Cemetery is/was on the Locust Fork Road. Three names: E. H. Aug 30 1855/Jan 08, 1860 John H. Sep 04, 1821/Jan 14.1897 Mary J. Jan 03. 1830/March 26, 1875 There are several Wash names in other cemeteries in the index. There is an article about them in the Scott County family and history book page 258. Also a small picture. I knew the Vermon and Walter families back in the 30 and 40. They were brothers and lived on the farm joining us. There was also another Wash family but I only knew the twin boys-- William and James--1940 period. Hope this is of some help Edith Lee Smith Trombley 1944 Graduate of Great Crossing. -----Original Message----- From: Nancy Giles via Sent: Wednesday, March 18, 2015 1:27 PM To: kyscott@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [KYSCOTT] Murphy-Wash Cemetery As President of the Scott County Genealogical Society, I have retained some emails over the years and came across this one of yours. 2. Hi Paige, There is no one in Scott County doing genealogy research right now. I do some lookups at the court house if I can be of any help in that way. Is Thomas Griffith from the Paris Griffith line? Doris Reed -----Original Message----- From: P. Walk (walkp_@hotmail.com)Sent:To: I'm trying this again but I am beginning to believe that this list is defunct: Does anybody have info regarding the daughters of this couple? They were Elizabeth Miller, 1791-1853, who married John Cartenhour bet 1833 and 1850. It was a 2nd marriage for each. Daughter #2 was Sarah A. Miller, born 1802, died after 1850, who married Thomas Griffith and was, apparently, a widow by 1850 when she was found living with her father and son, John J. Griffith. Also, I am interested in hiring a Scott Co. record searcher, so, if you know of one, please let me know. I am really serious about this! 3. I am wondering if this person received my message that I had found some information that may be of help to them. I would love to talk with them by phone. Also, their address as I will mail them what I have. Thanks. Edith Trombley -------------------------------------------------- From: "P.
